Following months of marital problems between Shane and Dipi Rebecchi, it looked like things might be improving between them. But after spotting Dipi taking selfies with daughter Yashvi, Shane mistakenly believed that she was setting up a dating profile, when actually it was a profile for her entry in the Erinsborough's Best Dish competition. When Shane later spotted Dipi chatting and laughing with Hugh Davis, he assumed that it was a date, when actually he was one of the judges from the competition, who had been trying her beetroot burgers and was very impressed. An annoyed Shane, rather than checking his facts, went off and decided to give Dipi a taste of her own medicine by acting on the attraction between himself and Amy Greenwood.
