When Oliver Barnes' baby daughter, Chloe, was born, he decided, after much soul searching, to get in touch with his dad, Richard Aaronow. A cruel man who had raped Oliver’s mother, Rebecca, Richard was recovering in a care facility after Oliver had donated a kidney to him, hoping that by prolonging his life, he would have to go to court and face justice. When Richard arrived at the facility, he spoke to nurse Sarah Dawson, who explained that Richard had moved on and had left strict instructions not to pass his new information on to anyone. Later, Oliver returned with his younger brother, Declan, the boys worried that Richard was out to hurt Rebecca again and begging for information. When Declan then tried to access the computer himself, they were taken off the premises, but Sarah followed them outside and explained that Richard could no longer harm Rebecca, as he had moved to a hospital to live out his final days.
