After realising that bank employee Greg Arnold had been deliberately undermining him and blaming him for his own mistakes, Des Clarke finally snapped and punched Greg on the nose. Unfortunately, Greg then tripped Des, who fell on his face, badly hurting his nose. At the hospital, he was treated by Dr Burns, who explained the his nose was broken, and it would need to be straightened and set to ensure that there was no permanent damage. Des was concerned that he'd end up with a wonky nose, but Dr Burns pointed out that it was a little late to be worrying about vanity, especially if he was going to go around starting fights.
