Philippa Drake 2008
Occupation: State Prosecutor

With Steve Parker charged over the death of Chris Knight, State Prosecutor Philippa Drake recommended in court that, due to the severity of the crime and the fact that the victim had been left for dead, Steve should be charged with the maximum allowable sentence. Knowing that Steve was protecting his daughter, Bridget, who'd been the one who attacked Chris in self defence, lawyer Toadfish Rebecchi tried to convince Steve to own up, but he refused. However, as the judge was giving her verdict, Steve's sister-in-law Nicola suddenly stood up and stopped proceedings, announcing that Steve was innocent, followed by Bridget owning up to her crime. The judge, however, was not willing to listen and continued passing down her verdict, admitting that the prosecution had not proven murder, but Steve would be charged with manslaughter and sentenced to five years in prison. Once the court had cleared, the judge then spoke to Toadie and Philippa, telling them that she was not happy with the situation - the police and prosecution had done a sloppy job, while Toadie seemed to be working to an entirely different agenda, but she said that the sentencing would stand, at least until the police had completed further investigations into the matter.
