Having cheated in an exam and failed to get into her desired journalism course, Summer Hoyland attended the uni society fair with her boyfriend Andrew Robinson. There, she saw the Journalism Student Society and started chatting to Belinda Ferry. Summer was upset as Belinda explained that she was only doing the course in the hope that she might one day become an entertainment reporter like Mary Hart on Entertainment Tonight, and grew frustrated that someone with little interest in real journalism had a place, whilst she didn’t. Some weeks later, Belinda was attending a party held by Tash Williams, and Summer was on a break in her relationship with Andrew. Belinda immediately seized her chance to get Andrew for herself, finding him alone in the bedroom – Summer, meanwhile, was desperate to talk to him and try to fix their problems, but when she walked in on Andrew and Belinda kissing on the bed, it seemed to be the end for the young couple, and Andrew realised what a mistake he’d made.
