Wendy Fitzgibbon 2001

After being assigned to look after a year 9 class, being kept back on detention, teacher Evan Hancock decided that, rather than sit around in a classroom, they should go on a trip to see Waratah Creek, a local waterhole that was about to be built on. However, he failed to inform anyone about where he’d be taking the kids and, when various parents, including Wendy Fitzgibbon, arrived to collect their children, they were shocked to find no sign of teacher or students. When Evan eventually returned with the kids, it led to a huge argument with school principal Susan Kennedy.
