When Lou Carpenter arranged, with the help of art agent Dave Coburn, to exhibit some paintings by the late artist Tom Foster, he was shocked when Tom’s son, Jonathan, arrived and said that his father had never produced any urban landscapes and all of the pictures were fakes. Lou contacted the police about the matter, before phoning Dave and allowing him to believe that everything was fine, and that the proceeds would be deposited into his bank account. Later that day, Jonathan turned up at Lou’s pub and gave Lou an original Tom Foster painting, to thank him for his help in catching Dave Coburn.
