Jason 1985

Jason was a friend of Ramsay Street resident Bernie Sutton, who had been annoying many of the neighbours by riding on the pavement and doing dangerous stunts, since his father gave him a new BMX bike. One afternoon, Bernie challenged Jason to a race down Palm Street and the two boys rode off onto the main road. Later, neighbour Helen Daniels returned from the shops and told her family that Bernie had been hit by a truck and killed whilst riding too close to the traffic.
