When Libby Kennedy found herself pregnant, having been told that, due to internal injuries following a motorcycle crash, it would be very dangerous for her to carry a baby to full term, she decided to keep it, claiming that it was a miracle. She began seeing specialist Jeanette Lewin at Erinsborough hospital, who remained with her through the nine months and examined her when she started bleeding only a couple of months into the pregnancy and she became frightened that she would miscarry. At the end of 2001, Libby suddenly went into premature labour, and Jeanette helped deliver baby Ben and went on to save Libby’s life when she suddenly went into cardiac arrest following the traumatic birth.
