Roy MacDoon of British Columbia, Canada discovered in 1989 that he was the new Earl of Doon in Scotland, following the death of his Great Uncle Alastair MacDoon. This was sad news for Roy's Australian second cousin, Harold Bishop, who had heard about the inheritance and had believed that he was the only living heir to the title.
