With Erinsborough High marked for closure, Terese Willis bought the land for her planned retirement home, causing a strain on her friendship with the school's principal, Jane Harris. As it looked like there was no hope for the school, Jane's daughter Nicolette arranged a huge protest, inviting the thousands of people who'd posted on the 'Save Our School' page online. With the protest underway, it wasn't long before Jane found out, then Terese, who immediately called the police to have it stopped. When Terese arrived at the school, she was surprised to see how many people had turned up, and called in her private security team to back up the police. With emotions running high, a group of protestors managed to break into the school and a group of security guards, led by Neil Martello, arrived to get them all out of the building. As a group of them were being marched out, a tussle broke out between Neil and Marty Muggleton, one of the teachers who was losing his job. Unfortunately, they ended up accidentally knocking Melanie Pearson backwards down the stairs without realising, and she was left unconscious on the ground as the lights were switched off and the building was locked up.
