Connie Mathios 1995
Occupation: Council Worker
Local youth and social worker Connie Mathios was delighted when she heard that Marlene Kratz would be opening up a youth centre in the space behind her shop, Kratz Bric-a-Bratz. She agreed to attend the grand opening, where she made a passionate speech about the importance of such a project. She then told everyone that they should thank Marlene for all of her hard work, and declared the centre open. The afternoon then came to a happy ending when runaway homeless girl Bianca Zanotti, who Marlene had been looking after, returned to town.
Several weeks later, during his campaign to become Mayor of Erinsborough, Lou Carpenter became heavily involved in another campaign - to stop a new freeway being built through the local park. Although that campaign was successful, Connie visited Lou and warned him that his actions had made him some enemies at the council and he could have put his chances of becoming Mayor at risk. However, the people disagreed and Connie was forced to eat her words when, a couple of weeks later, Lou was elected Mayor.
