When Valda Sheergold went missing from Erinsborough, unable to tell Lyn Scully that she was really her daughter, and not her niece, her friends and family became worried. When they learnt that Lyn’s childhood home in Shelley Bay was up for auction, they went there, hoping to find Valda. Though real estate agent Gavin McNulty was unable to tell them anything about the proposed bidders or people who’d booked viewers, Lou Carpenter managed to sneak a look at his list, where he saw Valda’s name, though they waited all day and she didn’t show up.

Ian Wilmoth previously appeared in 1997 as a tax inspector, in 1998 as Steve Dimmick and in 2001 as Barry Dempster, and returned in 2005 as Ronnie Sharp and in 2006 as Benjamin Masterman
