An old friend of Michael Daniels, Charles flew in from Perth to act as best man at his mate’s wedding to Helen Daniels. Charles supported his friend through the wedding and even gave Paul Robinson some advice on the birth of his unborn child.

However, with Michael and Helen away on their honeymoon, Helen's son-in-law, Jim was starting to have some doubts. Remembering that he'd seen a photo of a woman named Louise, who Michael had claimed to be his sister, whilst visiting Michael's house, Jim asked a few other Daniels relatives, who told him that Michael had no sister but had once been married to a woman named Louise. Whilst in Perth on business, Jim looked up Charles at his clinic and explained his findings. He was shocked to learn about Louise's degenerative illness and the fact that she no longer recognised Michael and a further shock came when Charles explained that the couple had never divorced and Michael was a bigamist.
