When dial-a-date Abby Stafford was spending the evening with a client, Harry Morris, at the Scarlet Bar, the date was suddenly interrupted by Abby’s boyfriend, Toadie Rebecchi. The pair had split up earlier that day, as Abby was concerned about Toadie’s feelings towards his ex, Steph Hoyland, but Toadie didn’t want to let Abby go and he rudely told Harry to go away. Harry walked out, warning Abby that he was going to report the incident to her boss, while Toadie offered Abby a way out of her job, by asking her to become his legal secretary.
