Jenny Pearson Leanne Edelsten
Jenny Pearson 1986
Occupation: Choreographer
After meeting football star Warwick Capper, Charlene Mitchell and Jane Harris became convinced that they could make it as cheerleaders. Their friend, Clive Gibbons, managed to get in touch with Jenny Pearson – who used to work for him as a chickengram, but was now a choreographer. Jenny agreed to audition Jane and Charlene, but only if Clive paid her back the $100 he still owed her. So, the girls took along the money and excitedly performed a routine with several other wannabes. At the end of the afternoon, Jenny told Charlene not to give up on her dream of becoming a mechanic, but explained to Jane that she was very good and could have potential if she wanted to become a dancer, leading to a brief, but nasty, falling out between the two best friends.
Notes: At the time of her appearance, Leanne Edelsten was married to the owner of the Sydney Swans football team, Geoffrey Edelsten. Warwick Capper played for the team at the time, and Leanne was convinced to make an appearance too. By the early 1990s, Leanne, a former model, had divorced Geoffrey.
