Pouch 2007-

As the Parker family – vet Steve, his wife Miranda and their adoptive daughter Didge – made their way down from Sydney to Melbourne, they found a kangaroo that had been fatally injured by a car, with her joey cowering nearby. Kindly Steve and Didge decided to take the baby kangaroo with them and, after arriving at their new home in Erinsborough, named him Pouch. Over the weeks that followed, Didge grew particularly close to Pouch, becoming the only one he would trust and even managing to train him to come when she called, and she found particular comfort in her pet when she was left temporarily paralysed after being hit by a car.
