When Alex Carter arrived in Erinsborough and started work at The Waterhole pub, none of the locals made the connection between the pleasant newcomer and a spate of burglaries that had recently been occurring. However, along with his accomplice, Arthur Reid, Alex had been listening in on conversations and finding out the comings and goings of many of the locals, then burgling their homes. Arthur made sure to rarely be seen in public with Alex and, when Alex was eventually caught and arrested for his crimes, Arthur was nowhere to be seen.
