A good friend to Charlene Mitchell, trucker Charlie Smith made a weekly journey between Coffs Harbour and Melbourne. On one occasion, Charlene decided to leave Erinsborough with Charlie and head home to Coffs, believing that her mother, Madge and boyfriend, Scott Robinson, didn’t want her around any more. Luckily, Scott realised her plan and managed to catch up with her at the truck depot, where he talked her out of leaving.
