3EE radio station assistant Traci Starr was used to massage the ego of Brainbusters contestant Lance Wilkinson as he waited to appear on the show. Sci-fi nerd Lance had proven extremely popular with listeners and, as Traci brought him drinks, she also asked him to go to the movies with her. Although Lance was flattered, his main purpose in appearing was to expose the corrupt producers, who had been feeding him the questions to keep him winning, so he turned Traci down, explaining that he already had a girlfriend.
