When Naomi Canning arrived in Erinsborough, she brought with her a whole heap of trouble, including a valuable Daisy Nader painting that she'd been given by her married ex-lover Charles Tranner. Charles' wife Polly felt that the painting was rightfully hers, as it had been bought with Tranner family money, and sent henchman Norm to Erinsborough to find Naomi and the painting. On his first visit to Ramsay Street, Norm met Naomi's mother Sheila, who wasn't prepared to give out any information about her daughter's whereabouts. When Norm returned, however, he found Naomi alone, and asked her to hand over the painting. She told him that she'd sold it, and he became more threatening, until Sheila returned home from one of her self-defence classes, kneed Norm in the groin and sent him packing.
