After being hit by a car, Bridget Parker was left paralysed down the left side on her body. She began having regular physiotherapy sessions at the pool with James Anderson and was uncomfortable when she spotted another teenage girl, Francie. James explained that Francie had been in a car accident three months ago and was paralysed from the waist down, which only made Bridget more determined to push herself in her pool exercises. Later on, as Bridget waited for her parents, she struggled to put her arm in the sleeve of her cardigan, and grew upset as she watched Francie seemingly coping well and happily chatting away to those around her.
