After Yashvi Rebecchi joined a local football team and discovered a talent for the game, she soon found herself being targeted by fellow player, Marisa Taylor. Marisa started quietly making racist comments, implying that Yashvi was being given an easy ride in the team because of the colour of her skin. The comments, along with abusive text messages, continued in the weeks that followed and eventually, during a team fundraising event being held by Yashvi's mum, Dipi, at her cafe, Yashvi told her mum what had been going on, showing her the messages before leaving. As Yashvi found out that her mum had been through similar things growing up, she found the strength to report Marisa. Dipi and Yashvi then met with Marisa and her mum, Lesley, as well as team coach Romy Britton, who was horrified to find out what had been going on. When Marisa then refused to apologise for her behaviour, Romy told her that she was off the team. Marisa then walked out, leaving Lesley to apologise before going after her daughter.
