When the Scully family moved to Ramsay Street, it wasn’t long before they were joined by gentle Rottweiler T-Rex, the beloved dog of Joe Scully’s brother, Mick, who had gone off travelling around Australia with his wife, Di. The Scullys enjoyed having ‘Rexxie’ around, and there was panic when their kitchen burnt down during the street’s Millennium Eve party, though the dog was found safe in a neighbouring back garden. Despite his frightening appearance, T-Rex was harmless, though he did have a habit of stealing, and destroying, things on the neighbours’ washing lines, which included the prized family quilt belonging to the Kirk women, which had been entrusted to Libby Kennedy as she prepared to marry into the family. Shortly afterwards, T-Rex went back home as Mick and Di returned, but a painting of him remained on the Scully living room wall for some time afterwards.
