A colleague of Libby Kennedy’s from the Erinsborough News, Julie Wise approached Libby’s parents, Karl and Susan, as Karl underwent a malpractice suit at the local courthouse. Karl was being sued by Maurie and Glenda Ryan for misdiagnosing cancer patient Glenda and, when Karl refused to give Julie a statement, she accused him of being hostile, before approaching the Ryans. They were only too glad to speak to the press, with Maurie stating that he simply wanted to be compensated for all of the pain and suffering that Karl had caused them.
