The capital city of Australia's Northern Territory, Darwin provided a home for Gaby Willis and Jack Flynn, and their son, Zac, in 1994 when they moved up there so Gaby could manage the branch of Lassiter's. Soon after, Gaby's parents, Doug and Pam, joined them and in 1995, Gaby offered her former employee at Lassiter's in Erinsborough, Rick Alessi, a job up north. In 1999, Philip Martin, wife Ruth and daughter Hannah also made the move up to Darwin, where the two families remained close friends.

Darwin was also shown on screen in 1994 when Mark Gottlieb and Annalise Hartman took part in the Big Bash and visited Gaby - click here for more information.

Who moved here: Merridy Jackson

Just as Lou Carpenter was growing close to Merridy Jackson, his daughter Louise's primary school teacher, she announced that she had been offered a job in Katherine and would be leaving. Though Lou contemplated moving his life up north to be with her, after a visit there he realised that the lifestyle was too different and he was happy in Erinsborough.
