Born 7th November 1972, Melissa Bell first appeared on television in 1990 in the soap opera E Street, playing the guest role of Janine. The following year, she became the third actress to play the role of Lucy Robinson in Neighbours, where she became part of the regular cast for a year. In mid-1992, Melissa left Neighbours to rejoin the cast of E Street, this time playing hippy Bonnie Tait, a role she continued to play until E Street ended in 1993.

As well as guest roles in other series such as Paradise Beach, Home & Away, G.P. and Water Rats, Melissa also made several returns to Neighbours as Lucy in the years that followed, appearing briefly in 1993, for a longer stint in 1995 and for a few weeks in 2005, as the show marked its 20th anniversary. In 2013, Melissa returned to the role of Lucy once again, this time on a recurring basis, appearing in two stints in 2013, and into 2014.

Away from acting, Melissa was co-author of the 1995 novel Living Famously, and also designs clothing, with her own boutique in the Sydney suburb of Double Bay. In 2005, Melissa took part in the reality series Celebrity Overhaul. She currently lives on the Gold Coast with her four children.
