Born February 1981 in Melbourne, Australia, Pippa began her acting career after graduating from high school in 1999.
Roles in children's theatre and student films followed, notably a small part in the 2003 TV movie Evil Never Dies and a small guest appearance in the hit show The Secret Life of Us.
After deferring her studies at university in order to concentrate on her acting career, her breakthrough role came when in 2005 she was cast in the regular role of Lucinda 'Elle' Robinson in Neighbours. Black was nominated in the 'Most Popular New Female Talent' at the 48th Annual Logie Awards for her performance.
As well as appearing in Neighbours, Pippa also appeared in an advertisement for Australis Cosmetics in 2005. Pippa is currently dating fellow actor and Neighbours guest star, Fletcher Humphrys, who played villain Guy Sykes in the latter part of the 2006 season.
