Born 17th July 1972 in the Melbourne suburb of Croydon, Peta Brady graduated from Ballarat University College with a BA in Performing Arts. Following a minor role in the mini-series, Phoenix, Peta, in 1993 and at the age of 21, joined the cast of Neighbours as the second actress to play the role of Cody Willis. Peta remained in the show for just over two years, before her character was killed off, the victim of a shooting.
After filming her final scenes as Cody in late 1995, Peta went on to make guest appearances in numerous television dramas and mini-series, including Simone De Beauvoir’s Babies, Good Guys Bad Guys, Blue Heelers and Raw FM as well as being awarded regular roles in Pig’s Breakfast and Big Sky. In 2001, Peta made her film debut with the role of Robbie in Mullet and since 2002, has appeared in the recurring role of Kelly in Kath & Kim as well as making a second guest appearance in Blue Heelers. In 2006, Peta took on the role of Lindy in RAN: Remote Area Nurse.
Peta also regularly appears in theatre roles including Melbourne Theatre Company’s Shark Fin Soup, Zeal Theatre Company’s The Essentials and a 2005 production of Patricia Cornelius’ Love. Also in 2005, Peta won the Gerda Nicolson Award for an Actress with an Emerging Career at the Green Room Awards.
