Sue Jones was born in Wales, and has Welsh-Australian nationality.
Sue had various acting roles prior to her early career including a role in the situation comedy ‘The Tea Ladies’ in 1978 and her portrayal of the character Kathy Hall in Prisoner in 1981, as well as
roles in Skyways, Love Thy Neighbour in Australia and Holiday Island. In 1986, she had
a small guest role in Neighbours as Peggy O'Hara, and in 1989
Sue was nominated for an Australian Film Institute award in the category of Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her part in the film Mull.
Sue returned to Neighbours in 1990, becoming well known for her role as Pam Willis, district nurse and wife of builder Doug in Neighbours from 1990-1994. Sue was offered the role after auditioning via a screen test.
Sue returned as Pam in 1996 after her daughter Cody was shot and died and in 2014 returned alongside her on-screen husband, Doug, played by Terence Donovan.
Following Neighbours, Sue Jones continued her acting career with guest roles in series including Something In The Air, Blue Heelers, Stingers, City Homicide and
The Time of Our Lives. Since 2013, Sue has had a recurring role as Pat in the ABC comedy series Upper Middle Bogan.
