Blair McDonough
Played: Stuart Parker
Appeared: 2001-2006
Born 30th April 1981, in Sydney, New South Wales, Blair McDonough spent much of his childhood in Singapore, due to his parents’ work, before returning to Australia to complete his schooling. In early 2001, he was chosen to appear as one of the housemates on the first series of Australia’s Big Brother. He quickly became popular with viewers, finishing second overall and, in August 2001, his Big Brother fame saw him snapped by up Neighbours producers in a blaze of publicity.
Blair’s first Neighbours appearance as country boy Stuart Parker was screened in December 2001, and he proved to be a hit with viewers, and saw his contract extended several times, before he ultimately quit the role in late 2005. During his four years with Neighbours, Blair was named one of the 25 Most Beautiful People In Australia by Who Weekly magazine, and nominated for the Logie Award for Most Popular New Male Talent in 2002. He also took part in the Australia’s Brainiest Neighbours gameshow.
After leaving Neighbours, Blair moved to London and took on a role in the play, The Vegemite Tales. He also became a regular face on UK reality shows, appearing in Sky One’s The Match in late 2006, a show which trialled celebrities to form a soccer team, as well as learning how to become a safari ranger in the BBC’s Safari School, in which he finished fourth. In 2007, he took part in ITV’s Soapstar Superchef in which he competed with former Neighbours actress Anne Charleston (Madge) against Coronation Street actors in the kitchen, and attempted to become a tabloid journalist in ITV2’s Deadline, but was the third celebrity to be fired.
