Sydney Swans 2002

After completing a course in massage, nurse Dee Bliss was contacted by one of her tutors, Jock McElroy, about helping out at a job with the Sydney Swans. Dee was only too happy to help, despite the reservations of her boyfriend, Toadie Rebecchi, who was constantly having to listen to jibes from other people about how unsuitable they were for each other. Once at the job, Dee convinced Toadie to leave and got chatting to some of the players – Jude Bolton, Ryan O’Keefe and Brett Kirk - who were only too eager to be massaged by the beautiful Dee. However, they all quickly backed off when Dee mentioned that she had a boyfriend and were happy to meet him when he turned up to collect Dee later that day.

Formerly the South Melbourne Football Club, the Sydney Swans moved to New South Wales in 1982, having enjoyed success in the 1930s before slowly heading towards bankruptcy. By the late 1990s, the club was enjoying some success again, culminating in their first premiership win in the 2005 Grand Final against the West Coast Eagles. The three players who appeared in Neighbours – Jude Bolton, Ryan O’Keefe and Brett Kirk – were all still with the team in 2005, with Kirk acting as co-captain.
