Marisa Warrington
Played: Wendy Scott/Robyn Dawson/Sindi Watts
Appeared: 1997/1999/2002, 2003, 2004-2005

Born in 1973 in England, Marisa Michelle Warrington came from a theatrical family, with an actor for a father and an opera singer for a mother. Her first appearance on stage was at the age of 7 and she joined the National Theatre Drama School at 20, before spending time in Stratford-upon-Avon with the Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as travelling in the UK and Europe. Her first television appearances came in 1997 and 1999 with one-episode guest roles in Neighbours.

In 2002, Marisa returned to Neighbours for a few weeks as the manipulative Sindi Watts, a role which grew to become recurring. Amidst guest roles in other shows such as Blue Heelers, television commercials and a very small role in the film Take-Away, Marisa returned as Sindi twice in 2003, before being offered a three-year contract and becoming a main cast member early in 2004.

In 2005, only 18 months into her contract, Marisa was let go from the series with producers citing that Sindi “wasn’t fitting into the street”, and her character’s mental problems led to her moving interstate to get help. During her time in Neighbours, Marisa’s love of singing led to her joining the band, Lucy De Ville, of which her castmate Marcella Russo was a member. Following her departure from Neighbours, Marisa continues to sing with the band, as well as appearing in several Australian comedy shorts.
