Maggie Millar's Recital | August 10 2003 |
Maggie Millar (Rosie Hoyland) will be doing a new show called Recital with Neighbours writer Alan Hopgood at Kingston Arts centre on Friday 15th August at 11am and 8pm, and Friday 22nd August at 8pm.
The show consists of a rehearsed reading of two of Alan's plays Back to Bellbird and Yours Sincerely, Miss Smith.
The first piece is about the return of the two doctors (played by Maggie & Alan) some twenty odd years later to a very different Bellbird, and the life-changing effect this has on them and the town. Those who remember Bellbird, Australia's very first TV serial, will love this opportunity to meet two of the show's most popular characters - Matt
and Georgia - once again.
The second piece is not unlike the popular Love Letters which Maggie & Alan performed in two very successful seasons a couple of years ago.
It's a charming, poignant piece about the correspondance between, and subsequent meeting of, a school student's father and his teacher. The preview audience were totally entranced by both pieces, and quite a few tissues were seen to be used! As well as quite a few laughs to be heard.
Bookings can be made on: (03) 9556 4440
Maggie & Alan hope to eventually take this performance to other venues around the country.

Since leaving Neighbours, Kate has been promoting her Showbiz Expo.
Delta Wins Awards | August 01 2003 |
Delta Goodrem (Nina Tucker) picked up four awards at the ARIA's held in Sydney last night. This was Delta's first public appearance since being diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma a few weeks ago.
Delta told an audience of pop peers and record executives last night:
"You've got to stay really positive. I've started treatment and it will continue for the next four or five months. I know there will be good days and bad days. On the good days I do what I want to do, and I'm really happy to be here today."
Delta's debut album Innocent Eyes has gone five times platinum and is currently sitting at number two in the ARIA charts.
Delta also spoke about returning to her role as Nina Tucker:
"I'm not losing it. She's just going away for a while on holidays."
The video for Goodrem's third single, Innocent Eyes has been added to UK music channel The Box, and the September release date is still on schedule, despite her illness. You can request the video by phone on 09067 533400 and use its selection number, 570.
