Will Janae's fiery temper cost Ned custody of his new-found son, Mickey?
Janae Timmins seldom shies away from a fight - but until now, she's been a model of restraint while supporting boyfriend Ned Parker in his battle for custody of his son, Mickey Gannon. This week, however, Janae loses her temper with Mickey's mother, Kirsten, endangering Ned's chances of victory...
"Janae is a Timmins through and through - what more can I say?" smiles Eliza Taylor-Cotter, who plays her. "Whenever she has the opportunity to blow her gasket, she seizes it. A fight between Janae and Kirsten has been brewing for a while!" Despite the growing up she's done recently, Janae's short fuse gets the better of her after Kirsten tries to make Ned look like a negligent, uncaring father.
"Ned's only known Mickey for a short time, so doesn't realise when it's the boy's birthday," Eliza reveals. "Kirsten throws Mickey a surprise party, leaving Ned feeling terrible - forgetting something like that will do nothing to help his cause. That's like a red rag to a bull for Janae, who accuses Kirsten of playing dirty."
On the advice of her lawyer, Tim, Kirsten decides to push Janae's buttons even harder, with the aim of damaging Ned's credibility. "Kirsten makes a show of affection with Ned while Janae's watching, and later calls the Timmins family 'criminals'," sighs Eliza. "Just as you'd expect, Janae loses it and throws a drink in her face. Kirsten then reports her to the police for assault, causing a lot of tension between Ned and Janae. It's starting to look like Kirsten may win the war after all..."
