One Year Ago - November and December 2002

Romance was in the air with Susan and Karl’s remarriage, while Flick became the first member of the Scully family to leave Erinsborough...

 

• Jack Scully surprises everyone by returning to town with no warning. At first he is cagey, but his girlfriend, Lori Lee, arrives and reveals the truth - Jack has given up the soccer and is back to stay

Nina meets Taj Coppin, elder brother of Tahnee. He begins sending her mysterious text messages and denying it, but in the end the truth comes out and the pair start dating. By the end of the year, however, it’s obvious that Nina has more than a passing interest in Jack

Stuart and Flick go away on a road trip, but their camper van crashes over the edge of a cliff and they both narrowly escape death. Flick’s plan to go to New York continue and Stuart decides to propose. She accepts and they agree to a long-distance relationship as she departs for America

Chloe ends her relationship with Darcy after realising that she can never give Darcy children, something that he would probably begin to desire in his life in the near future

Michelle is secretly relieved when the New York exchange is called off at the last minute, due to problems with the insurance

Lou’s health causes him problems, to the point where he collapses and is admitted to hospital. He is enormously shocked to be informed by Karl that he is going to need a kidney transplant, or face the rest of his life on dialysis

Libby celebrates Ben’s first birthday, an occasion tinged with sadness as Drew is not by her side

Susan and Karl renew their wedding vows with the whole street present. During the ceremony, Susan’s memory returns and she starts to recite her original wedding vows

Max finally plucks up the courage to ask Steph on a date and, caught up in the romance of Susan and Karl renewing their vows, she accepts

 

Five Years Ago - November 1998

High drama as the 1998 season drew to a close with lives and relationships hanging in the balance…

• Sally and Joel split up as her jealousy and issues over her mother’s death become too much. However, the following week, she starts coming on to Drew, who isn’t sure how to react…

Toadie’s cousin Tad arrived to stay for a while, with his parents hoping that Toadie’s new responsible role as a trainee lawyer would be a good influence on their impressionable son

Libby is shocked when Mike asks her to move in with him, but before her decision can be made, she realises that she has competition for her boyfriend – from his ex-wife, Victoria

The Kennedys were horrified to hear that a touring coach that Mal was aboard in Europe had crashed, though they were later relieved to learn that he’d actually not been at work that day

Lance and Amy came close to reconciling, as he finally decided to get help for his gambling problem and paid a visit to Karl

Bill and Anne slept together for the first time on a camping trip, but when he tried to play down the situation to Pinhead, Anne overheard and tearfully took off in Lance’s ute

Joel and Karl stopped to help Anne as the ute had got stuck in the mud by a river. As they pushed it, the wheels locked and it slipped down the bank, with Joel trapped underneath. As the water level began to rise, Karl struggled to keep Joel’s head above it and it looked like he was about to drown…

 


Ten Years Ago - November and December 1993

The 1993 season came to a dramatic conclusion, with revelations, arrivals, departures, a wedding and a plane crash…

 

• Annalise continues to be conned by a young man pretending to be her half-brother, Luke, until some detective work by Mark exposes him as an imposter

Cody Willis returns from America and immediately causes trouble by developing a close relationship with bad boy Michael Martin

Cheryl Stark is revealed as the new owner of number 22. She shocks the street by beginning a relationship with Jack Flynn, which quickly ends when her children, Brett and Danni, run away from boarding school and turn up on her doorstep

Michael returns to live with the Martin family, and Julie tries to over-compensate for their past problems by making his bedroom really nice. He decides to leave, after realising he and Julie will never get along, but Phil convinces him to stay for Christmas

Lou and Cheryl finally get together, though Danni and Brett are not happy about this development and plan to ruin the relationship

Brad and Beth were reconciled and finally made it down the aisle. However, interference from their parents led to them marrying at a registry office before tying to escape to Perth. Doug, Pam and Bunny caught them and forced them to return and marry once again in Ramsay Street before moving away for good

Having recently been given her pilot’s licence, Gaby took Annalise out on a trip to the bush with her, however, things took a tragic turn when the motor cut out and they started plummeting towards the ground…
