One Year Ago - September 2002

A sudden and shocking death rocks Ramsay Street, while another resident makes a surprise return and a third is told she's being transferred...

• Drew and Libby agree to an offer from Ron Kirk to join him in Oakey and help run his stud farm. However, a shocking twist of fate results in a riding accident and Drew dying on the operation table. After a moving funeral, Libby and Ben return to Erinsborough in shock

• Flick's sudden return from America shook things up for Stuart and Steph. A truce was finally called between the two sisters, Flick scored a job at Lassiter's hotel and Stuart and Flick realised they had feelings for each other

• Rosie is informed by the Bishop that she is being transferred to Byron Bay, which upsets her, as well as Boyd and forces Harold to admit his true feelings for her. This creates a rift between old mates Lou and Harold and Lou moves out of number 24

• Toadie and Dee's relationship moves up a gear and they decide to share a room. She also has to suddenly go to Tasmania for her gran's surprise party and is forced to stay there when Nan Bliss gets sick

• Max finds it difficult to adjust to life with Boyd and Summer, unaware that he is alienating Summer from his activities with Boyd

• Connor helps Nina record a song and Nina realises she's falling for him, something which Tahnee finds out and delights in blackmailing her friend over, while Connor starts reading lessons with Libby

• Susan and Karl grow closer and he asks her to accompany him to the annual medical ball, Susan also moves in with Libby to support her after Drew's death and also decides to return to University




Five Years Ago - September 1998

One couple celebrate their wedding anniversary - with the marriage only just intact while the stress gets too much for one of the older residents and love causes many problems for the younger ones...


• It's Karl and Susan's 25th wedding anniversary and they're clinging onto their marriage by the skin of their teeth. Karl moves back home, but despite the constant pretence, it is obvious that the Kennedy marriage is a long way from back to normal

• Lance finds comfort in winning small amounts of money gambling, but soon finds that his addiction is spiralling out of control and is threatening his relationship with Amy

• The driveway dispute between Madge, Harold and Lou descends into chaos but the stress becomes too much for Lou, who suffers a heart attack. Madge finds him face down in his spa, just in time to save him

• Libby learns that Mike has a daughter, Sasha, with whom she finds it difficult to bond. Libby is also unsettled as she learns about Mike's ex-wife, Victoria and realises she might be getting in over her head

• Sarah is finally convinced that she's being stalked and feels unsafe working at the hospital at night - as if somebody is watching her. She is convinced that the culprit is Alex as he knows her well enough and reports the incidents to the police

• Joel starts dating Sally Upton, who works at the radio station with Toadie. They get very close very quickly and she opens up to him about the death of her mother

• The teenagers begin their university applications and Billy is worried about Anne applying to an art college in Dawber, as it would mean that they would need to separate

• Phil is surprised to find out that Hannah has asked to go to France to stay with the Girard family and he realises how unhappy she is since he married Ruth. He agrees to her going away for a while, but Lance and Anne are less pleased about the decision




Ten Years Ago - September 1993

The show hits its landmark 2000th episode with the return of a couple of old faces who bring with them secrets to add to the ones already brewing in the street...

• Helen is about to celebrate her birthday and so Pam arranges a big party to cheer her up, since the recent passing of Jim has left her feeling alone. All the residents gather for her surprise at the pub, while Paul and Lucy Robinson also return for the event

• Stephen and Phoebe receive the insurance money from his accident and plan to open their own record store. After plans to open one in Lassiter's mall fall through, they move away to Anson's Corner to open the business

• Julie and Phil begin making plans to divorce and he intends moving away to Perth. However, in the midst of Helen's birthday celebrations, they reunite and announce this to the pub.

• Michael escapes from the detention centre dressed as a woman, in an attempt to help Debbie escape Darren Stark's clutches. He arrives too late as Darren holds up a service station and Michael is shot as he attempts to stop it

• Cheryl asks Lou to marry her in the middle of Helen's party, believing he cannot say no to her. Her resolve is barely challenged when he turns her down

• Lucy reveals that she has married her manager, David Kazalian. David is quite a brash character for Ramsay Street, who soon catches Lucy flirting with Mark Gottlieb and upsets Lucy's family

• Annalise suffers sexual harassment at work at the hands of Jeffrey Hockney

• Paul's return brings trouble for Phil as Paul frames him for major fraud before fleeing to Rio
