One Year Ago - July 2003

A wedding, a death and an illicit kiss – and that was just one day on Ramsay Street…

 

• Angie arrives to assist with wedding plans and after a few weeks of insanity, the big day finally arrives, with Toadie’s brother Stonie arriving as best man. However, the day takes a tragic turn when the car crashes on the way to the honeymoon, leaving Dee missing, presumed dead and Toadie a broken man

• Lori decides to terminate her pregnancy, despite Connor’s assurances that he will stand by her. However, whilst sitting in the abortion clinic, she changes her mind and decides to fly back to New Zealand that day, only telling Jack of her plans

• Lyn struggles to cope with the revelation that Valda is her real mother and decides to meet Charlie Cassidy, her biological father. In Shelley Bay, Lyn learns that Charlie is dying and that Valda is the innocent party in the whole affair. Lyn and Valda are finally reconciled, while Lyn rejects Henry, the man she believed to be her father, for his years of deception

• Libby splits up with Cameron after realising how much he resents her having a child. She also struggles to cope with Taj’s crush on her and, in the wake of Dee’s death, she gives in and spends the night with him

• Meanwhile, Karl sacks Cameron over his relationship with Libby and finds himself facing charges of unfair dismissal

• Steph and Max finally move in together, but they feel guilty being so happy as Ramsay Street comes to terms with losing Dee

• Nina signs a contract with agent Melody Jones, faking her parents’ signatures in the process

• Boyd’s rebellion comes to a head as her steals and crashes Toadie’s car. Following this, he and Max have an emotional discussion about Steph replacing Claire in their lives, and Boyd finally accepts his father’s new girlfriend

 

Five Years Ago - July 1999

A wedding that threatened to end in disaster, a marriage on the rocks and several relationships in limbo made for a busy month…

• Peter and Sarah, after many weeks of ups and downs, finally make it down the aisle, but not without several last minute hitches. With the wedding over, the head off to Amsterdam to start a new life together

Karl, meanwhile, puts his marriage in jeopardy once again by kissing Sarah on her wedding day. A jealous Susan suspects that the Karl and Sarah situation may not be resolved, but realises that with Sarah so far away, she is no longer a threat

Seemingly unable to win Libby over, Drew decides to go out with her arch enemy, Geri Hallett, instead. As time goes on, Libby becomes increasingly jealous, and starts to wonder if she does have feelings for Drew after all

Lance begins to change his attitude and appearance in the wake of his new relationship with Megan. Amy, however, does not trust Megan and starts following her to find out the truth. She eventually overhears Megan discussing the fact that she’s only seeing Lance for a bet, and is forced to break the news to him

Harold’s health continues to suffer, culminating in him collapsing in front of the traffic during his rounds as lollipop man

Joel refuses to accept that his career as a triathlete is over and attempts to get back into training, only to realise that it is going to be a lot harder than he had anticipated

• Tad continues to struggle at school and is horrified to learn that he may be suffering from learning difficulties

• Paul struggles to control his jealousy as he learns that Hannah is still in contact with Pascale, the older brother of Claire Girard, and ends up dumping her over her deceit

 


Ten Years Ago - July 1994

New faces, sad farewells and a couple of surprise births left emotions running high in Ramsay Street…

 

• As Lou, Brett and Danni move into number 22, they meet their new neighbour, Marlene Kratz. However, it emerges that Marlene is infact Cheryl’s estranged mother and Cheryl reacts badly to this. Marlene, meanwhile, it desperate to build bridges with her family

The shock of seeing her mother sends Cheryl back into hospital, where she is later required to have an emergency caesarean in order to save her, and the baby’s, life. Fortunately, the operation goes well

Gaby also goes into labour suddenly, and on the same day as Cheryl, leading to a mad panic in the Willis household. Gaby makes it to the birthing centre in time and gives birth to a baby boy

Michael decides to leave Erinsborough for good to go and work at the Brosnan Centre in the Outback. He leaves it until the last minute to tell his girlfriend, Danni, that he won’t be back. She is shocked, but eventually accepts his decision and bids him a tearful farewell

With her problems out in the open, and after a heart-to-heart with Helen, Debbie decides to leave Erinsborough for a while to attend a clinic to help with her eating disorder

Rick meets sky-diving instructor Cassandra Rushmore and the pair begin dating, but he’s in for a shock when he finds out that her father runs rival hotel Parkside Pacific and they’re trying to poach him

Mark and Annalise’s relationship hits the rocks as she is attracted to newcomer Sam Kratz and also announces to Mark that she doesn’t want to have a family
