One Year Ago - March 2003

A shocking accident left more than one relationship in limbo, while a run-in with the law led to a surprise marriage proposal…

 

• When Connor is dobbed in to the authorities for working outside the restrictions of his Visa, he and Michelle decide to run away rather than face him being deported. She then proposes in an attempt to keep him around permanently, but in the end, he decides that they must go home, where he narrowly avoids arrest after revealing his illiteracy

• Steph starts seeing Alex Argenzio, leaving Max out in the cold. Meanwhile, it seems that Alex is winning Steph over to the idea of going on a trip around Australia on their bikes

• Jack and Nina begin a secret relationship but she especially is finding the guilt hard to deal with and decides that they must reveal all to Lori and Taj

• Darcy began to come between Toadie and Dee, when, after finding Dee’s marriage certificate, he tracked down Dee’s ex-husband, Darren Turner, and brought him to Erinsborough. The plan worked and Toadie and Dee split up, no longer feeling able to trust each other

• Stu breaks up with Flick over the phone and tells Libby that he feels more than just friendship toward her.

• Summer begins a paper round, but is bullied by Jacinta Martin, who wants the round for herself

• Darcy pays Sindi Watts to flirt with a newly-single Toadie in an attempt to keep him from getting back with Dee

• Karl faces his day in court over his drink-driving charges and is embarrassed to lose his licence, especially in front of Erinsborough High’s legal studies class

• Lori suffers a terrible accident when she slips at the swimming pool and lands on her back, causing possible spinal problems. Jack is unable to break up with her when he receives the news, and Nina is left alone, having already told Taj that she can’t see him anymore

 

Five Years Ago - March 1999

Everyone in Ramsay Street was facing family and relationship problems and they handled them with varying degrees of success…

• Drew catches Mike cheating on Libby and finds himself unable to tell her the truth. When she confronts him over his behaviour, Drew tells her the truth and she dumps Mike, only for him to win her back. However, when Mike’s daughter Sasha reveals that her mum is pregnant, Libby ends things for good, while a dejected Drew makes plans to leave Erinsborough

Susan accidentally runs over Bob, causing her old feud with Sarah to erupt and leading to Sarah going away with her mother, Bess, for a few days

The Martins and Kennedys go go-karting together, which leads to a competitive feud between the two couples

After having been dumped by Hannah for cheating on her with Jade, Paul is upset to realise that Tad is now after Jade. However, things didn’t work out for Tad, while, as the weeks go on, Hannah realises that she wants Paul back

Anne flies out to Queensland to begin her course at Dawber University, but, unable to live without Bill, she returns the following day, much to Ruth’s horror and enrols at Eden Uni, while also getting a job waitressing at an Italian restaurant

After a little manipulation from Bess, Lou buys number 30 to avoid the residents becoming homeless. Bess then leaves town, her relationship with her daughter back on an even keel

Joel is finding it hard to adjust to life without sport and begins to suffer from panic attacks as a result of almost drowning

 


Ten Years Ago - March 1994

Old faces, new faces and shock pregnancies made for a very busy month on Ramsay Street…

 

• Gaby returns from Italy, at first claiming that she’s simply left her job, but later revealing that her true reason for coming back was that she’s expecting a baby. At first, Gaby refuses to reveal any information, but the return of Jack Flynn seems to hold the answer

An old friend of Gaby’s, Sally Pritchard, arrives to teach Japanese at Erinsborough High and Rick quickly develops a crush on her

Helen is shocked to bump into a former resident of Ramsay Street – Len Mangel, and the two soon strike up a close friendship. Though the rest of the family find it hard to trust the man, Helen decides to go away on holiday with him

Michael finds out that an ex-girlfriend, Chrissie, has HIV and decides to get a test himself. It turns out to be negative, but it changes his outlook on life

Cheryl worries that she’s going through the menopause, until she makes the shocking discovery that she’s pregnant

Doug and Pam’s marriage comes under threat when she starts to spend time with Tom Weaver and begins lying to her family. However, it seems that he wants more than just friendship from her

When he finds out that a beauty paegent is being held at Lassiter’s, Mark decides to enter the sexist competition to prove a point, much to the surprise of Annalise
