One Year Ago - May 2003

More departures, a shocking accident, a huge revelation and the beginning of a dangerous new relationship…

 

•Jack confesses his affair with Nina to a wheelchair-bound Lori, who promptly moves out and into the Kennedy house. Nina also tells Jack that they have no future together

• Tahnee returns from New York and causes trouble for Nina. However, when Nina ends up being sacked, Tahnee takes the rap and gets sent away to boarding school by her parents

• Meanwhile, Michelle is offered Tahnee’s old place on the exchange programme and leaves Erinsborough for good after repairing her relationship with Connor

• Darcy finds himself in debt to James and robs the pub of its takings, leaving Ruby in the frame. He then finds out that Karl has inherited some valuable jewellery from his elderly aunt and robs the Kennedy house, once again leaving Ruby looking like the guilty party, but also injuring a pregnant Lyn Scully, who comes to investigate noises next-door

• Harold despairs of living with Gino and tries to force him out, in the end he makes himself out to be untidy and obnoxious, before eating ‘meat’ infront of Gino, who quickly moves out

• Valda and Lou’s friendship grows, to the point where she confides in him that she’s Lyn’s natural mother. However, after a run-in with Joe following Lyn’s accident, Valda leaves town

• Boyd is unhappy about Max and Steph’s relationship and deliberately causes problems for them

• Libby begins tutoring Taj and he starts to develop a fondness for her

 

Five Years Ago - May 1999

One couple gradually got closer to romance, while another experienced a whirlwind proposal…

• Toadie is finally freed from all charges in the accident that left Pinhead in a coma when Sarah finds the true culprit and he’s identified by an eye witness

Sarah meets Peter Hannay, a friend of her mother’s and the couple hit it off and start dating. Peter is called away to work on relief for a natural disaster, but at the last minute, he decides not to go and Sarah is shocked when he announces that he stayed behind for her and that he wants them to get married

Anne wins the court case over Lily Madigan’s will and ends up as the new owner of Lily’s house. Everyone has suggestions about what to do with it, and the gang think about moving in there together, but Anne eventually decides to rent it out

The truth about Lance’s gambling problem is finally revealed and Ruth is horrified to realise that she is apparently the last to know. Lance writes a letter to his mum in an attempt to repair some of the damage he’s caused and finally agrees to get help for his addiction

Libby joins Drew on a trip to see his family in Oakey. While there, Drew’s friend Shelly gives birth and on the way back, they are forced to return to town as Dougal has stowed away in the car. Because of this, they’re forced to spend the night in an old shack halfway home, with only one bed, and so Drew sleeps in the chair

Joel is forced to split up with Geri when she tries to move things on too quickly for him

• Bill has problems setting up his workshop and realises that it’s going to take a lot of effort to prove to his father that he can manage on his own

 


Ten Years Ago - May 1994

Several life-changing incidents made for an interesting month…

 

• Doug begins a new job alongside Andrew Mackenzie, who appears to be a bit of a tyrant, but it doesn’t stop Debbie falling for him

After meeting the Honeypigs, Danni and Michael decide to form a band and set about getting everyone together

Rick thinks things are going well with Sally and he starts to think about proposing to her, until she admits to him that she’s already involved with someone and calls the whole thing off

Gaby begins a new relationship with Kris Hyde, but she begins to have second thoughts after discovering that he has a wife

Mark’s world begins to fall apart, and things only get worse when he’s called to his parents’ farm and discovers that his mum is in the final stages of cancer. She eventually dies in his arms

Helen is diagnosed with glaucoma and Brett attempts to find an alternative treatment to help her

Danni loses her diabetes bracelet on a night out with Michael and, after collapsing, is mistaken for being drunk and thrown into a police cell
