A paternity secret, a fake wedding and a shooting made for a dramatic July in Erinsborough…

Though Paul is saved from almost dying in the collapsed mineshaft, Robert disappears and later kidnaps Katya from Ramsay Street
Paul and Gail work with the police to stage a fake wedding, knowing that Robert will hate the idea and come out of hiding. After seeing the wedding announcement in the newspaper, Robert falls for their plan and shows up as the service, in the grounds of Lassiter’s and shoots Paul, who is saved by a bulletproof vest. Robert is arrested and taken away, while Cameron is finally freed
Paul’s self-destructive behaviour continues following Robert’s arrest and he decides to sleep with another woman, in the hope that it will stop Izzy and Gail fighting over him. A devastated Gail returns to Tasmania but Izzy sticks around, humiliating herself in the hope that Paul still has feelings for her
A check-up with Karl leaves Sky reeling when he mentions that the baby is very small for its age and she realises that there’s now a very strong chance that Stingray, and not Dylan, is the father of her unborn child
Finally free from Robert, Katya faces more problems as she tries to let Toadie down gently and then runs straight into the path of Max’s reversing car and is knocked down
Only moments after meeting her idol, Shane Warne, Mishka receives a visit from some Russian officials, who take her away to sign some papers only for her not to return. Lou soon realises that Mishka’s husband, Igor, had a hand in her disappearance and vows to go to Moscow and bring her back
Ned’s crush on Sister Mary Catherine grows worse. As he realises that she can sing, he grows determined to land her a recording contract, but she subtly tries to get him to back off, desperate to avoid any kind of publicity

Two residents fled from Ramsay Street – one to serve his country, while the other was for an entirely different reason…
After the dramas with Flick, Stuart joins the army and meets Ray Milsome, who decides to head to Erinsborough while on leave. Stuart has trouble as he tries to stand up to figures of authority, but soon proves himself worthy
Susan refuses to believe that she was ever married to someone like Karl, she disappears to find her boyfriend from when she was 16, Craig Benson. Susan’s sister, Carmel arrives in order to help Karl with the search. Karl is also questioned by police over her disappearance
After many arguments and an unexpected kiss, Dee and Toadie finally get together, much to the relief of all their friends
After realising that he can’t read or write, Tahnee blackmails Connor into kissing her, putting a great deal of strain on Michelle and Connor’s relationship
Flick decides she needs to get away from all the problems with Steph and Marc and takes up an offer from Tad to join him for a few weeks on the Extreme Games tour in America
Summer starts having fainting spells and decides to start faking them to get attention from Drew, who she has a crush on. Karl decides to do some tests after learning that Summer’s mother died from heart problems and it is eventually revealed that Summer has Long QT syndrome
After an animal blessing at the church, Boyd finds an abandoned fox and starts looking after it in secret and receiving mysterious letters asking him to take care of 'Roxy'

Runaway Jamie-Lee is reunited with her parents, Joe and Mary-Anne and, after several days, finally admits that she was the one who set fire to the bus, angry with Lou after he sacked her. Lou’s name is cleared and his friends who doubted his innocence are forced to apologise
Lance finds a new girlfriend in the form of popular Erinsborough high student Amy Greenwood but their first date ends badly when he starts showing off and ends up falling in Lassiter’s lake. Although he thinks he’s blown his one chance, Amy later comes over to his house and the pair share a kiss
Not wanting to rent a house from Philip following their split, Ruth makes plans to move out of Ramsay Street, much to the horror of Anne and Lance. They eventually convince her to stay and Ruth decides to rent the spare office at Karl’s surgery and make it her new physiotherapy practice
After realising that she’s not cut out for teaching and resigning from her job at the school rather than face an internal investigation into her lacklustre marking of the kids’ work, Lisa finds another job at the University of Hobart research labs and packs up and leaves
During a fishing trip, Karl, Lou and Phil’s boat breaks down. Karl decides to swim for help, but goes missing, while Lou and Phil are rescued. Karl is eventually found and his family is surprised as he suddenly has a whole new outlook on life, no longer nagging the kids about schoolwork or worrying about money
Harold returns to Erinsborough, having scored an audition for the local Salvation Army band, playing tuba

Years Ago - July 1987
The wedding of the Millennium finally took place, as Scott and Charlene became man and wife…
Scott and Charlene are finally married, to the sounds of Angry Anderson’s Suddenly. Charlene is thrilled to receive a four-year apprenticeship at the garage as a gift from Rob and everyone waves off the newlyweds as they head off for their honeymoon
Hilary does some matchmaking for her cousin, Jim, and introduces him to her friend, Dr Beverly Marshall, who is visiting from Adelaide. Although the pair fail to hit it off at first, they soon start seeing more of each other and romance blossoms
During a fishing trip with Des, and Jim and Beverly, Daphne suddenly goes into labour and, before help can arrive, she gives birth to a baby boy, who, once they’ve recovered from the shock, they decide to name Jamie
Henry shocks Madge by introducing his latest girlfriend, the slightly insane Melanie Pearson, who comes complete with a donkey-like laugh, but the relationship doesn’t last long. Meanwhile, following Charlene’s change to Robinson, Madge and Henry decide to banish any lingering memory of Fred Mitchell and change their surname to Ramsay
Following his problems with Madge and his inability to find his own business in Erinsborough, Harold makes plans to leave and move to Adelaide. However, he decides to stay after becoming the new manager of the Coffee Shop during Daphne’s maternity leave
Recovering from her bout of amnesia, Mrs Mangel is shocked to realise that her husband, Len, didn’t die but rather he left her for another woman. Appalled at Jane for lying to her, Mrs Mangel throws her granddaughter out of the house
Daphne employs young Gino Rossini to work at the Coffee Shop as a chef, impressed with his references and his claims that he wants to help support his large family. Unfortunately, it all ends badly when he admits that the references were his father’s and he can’t actually cook
