Bree meets blind schoolgirl Anne Baxter at one of her book readings, and Anne soon latches on, claiming that she’s Bree’s biggest fan. However, Janelle doesn’t trust her daughter’s new friend and it becomes clear that something strange is going on when they find a tape recorder in Anne’s bag, with her talking about the Timmins family and her plan to get close to them
Frazzled from working all hours and his problems with Susan, Karl ends up chatting to an equally lonely Izzy one evening in the bar. She drives him home and gives him (too much) of a sleeping drug he’s trialling for a colleague, and it results in him believing that she’s Susan and sleeping with her. Izzy is overjoyed but the next morning she realises that Karl didn’t know it was her, and keeps quiet about their night of passion
Ned starts up his own personal trainer business and his first client is the older, and wealthier, Loris Beaumont. Ned grows close to her and she offers to invest in his business, though he is unaware that she has another connection to Ramsay Street – she’s Janelle’s mother-in-law
Lou returns from visiting Mishka with no memory of what happened during the trip and a sudden desire for a real Aussie woman like Janelle. When Janelle finds a tattoo on Lou’s back and he has no memory of it, Karl tentatively broaches the subject of early on-set Alzheimer’s
Paul sets Lyn up to take the rap for the baby belt copyright breach but, rather than cut all ties with him, Lyn can’t resist Paul and the pair end up in a passionate embrace
Worried about losing Dylan to pregnant Sky, Elle, with the help of her dad and a corrupt lab technician, pretends to be seriously ill but things go horribly wrong when Cameron, desperate to help, forces Elle to take one of the chemo tablets in front of him and she ends up having her stomach pumped
Max grows close to Katya, despite Steph’s fears and, when it’s believed that Robert has escaped from prison, Max rushes to Katya’s aid, only to knock down and seriously injure Cameron instead

Boyd and Cecile are discovered looking after Roxy the fox and she is taken away. Harold helps them get Roxy rehoused in an animal park, rather than put down. Rosie talks him into staying around for the sake of the children, and he rents out number 32 for the three of them

After his mother’s death, Saxon stays with Harold. His father, Roger Garvey, arrives, intent on taking Saxon away, though he refuses to go at first, eventually agreeing to a boarding school in Sydney

An outbreak of food poisoning, a ventriloquist and a near-death experience…
|
|
Debbie is horrified when there’s a food poisoning outbreak, linked back to a pizza eating contest at the Coffee Shop. Things get worse when Helen is one of the victims and has to go back into hospital, and Libby publishes a story about the incident in the Erinsborough News, leaving their friendship and Debbie’s business, in jeopardy
Ben and Sarah look for a new housemate to replace Lisa, and after interviewing the decidedly dodgy Tim Shepherd, they settle on the quiet Richard Jones, but are alarmed to hear him talking to himself in his room, only to learn that he’s an amateur ventriloquist. He hasn’t been living there long when he gets himself a job performing on a cruise ship in the Arctic Circle and leaves
Ben starts a new, but brief, relationship when he meets Angela Quinton in a club. He soon wants her to move into number 30, but Sarah puts a stop it it, not wanting to live under the same roof as a dating couple
Lance faces problems at work when Toadie comes to help him and ends up spraying herbicide all over the plants. Fearing that they’ll all die and he’ll be to blame, Lance breaks into the nursery only to be caught by a security guard and sacked anyway, but after explaining the mix-up to his boss, he is rehired
Ruth bumps into an old school friend, Alistair O’Connor, at the surgery one day as he arrives for an appointment. The pair are soon having dinner and getting along like a house on fire, much to Philip’s upset. Meanwhile, Alistair’s daughter, Samantha, takes a shine to Lance and tries to come between him and Amy
At the uni, whilst helping Darren to put up a banner for the Winter ball, Libby slips and he saves her life. As the pair grow closer, Libby struggles with her dad interfering in her life and decides to move out of home

There were medical dramas for more than one Ramsay Street resident…
Following a particularly stressful few days involving a break-in at her home, Mrs Mangel’s dodgy heart takes a turn for the worse and, following yet another argument with Madge, she suffers a heart attack and collapses
In the wake of Nell’s illness, her daughter, and Jane’s mother, Amanda, arrives in Erinsborough, fresh from Hong Kong and clearly trying to escape from some dodgy business deals. As well as starting her own feud with Madge, Amanda also proceeds to force Jane into becoming the quiet, demure and modestly dressed “Plain Jane Superbrain” she was the previous year
The street is divided over Paul’s plans to knock down the Waterhole to build a new hotel wing and Gail is particularly unimpressed. Madge is won over when Paul promises that she can run the new wing, but when Rosemary finds out, she calls a halt to the whole development. An irate Paul accuses Gail of reporting back to Rosemary, but is shocked to learn that it was actually Helen
Daphne struggles with her emotions following Jamie’s birth and Des worries about her odd behaviour, but Beverly advises him to be patient. Just as Daphne is coming to terms with things, it all gets much worse when Eileen descends upon the Clarke house, determined to help with the care of her grandson
In the hope of increasing Lassiter’s’ profits, Gail comes up with the idea of promoting their “Australianness” to overseas clients, and Rosemary suggests making a video to go with it. With Mike filming, things go well, until Eileen tries to stick her oar in at every opportunity, hoping for international stardom
During a trip to Adelaide, Jim is confused by Beverly’s odd behaviour, trying to avoid a mysterious man. Back in Erinsborough, it turns out that the man was married Stephen Armstrong, and Bev is forced to come clean to Jim when Stephen’s wife, Karen, turns up and pours a glass of wine over the doctor’s head in front of a busy Waterhole
As Lucy becomes more and more clumsy, dropping things, having dizzy spells and even being dropped from the netball team because she can’t play properly, the family think nothing of it until they find her unconscious on the couch. She’s rushed to hospital where they start running tests on a suspected brain tumour
