The Waterhole: Susan and Karl come in, Susan telling Karl how surprised she was at what happened. Karl informs Susan they will have to ask Nate to
leave, although Susan is reluctant, pointing out what Nate has been through. Karl reminds Susan that Nate is unpredictable and erratic although Susan does not think he is dangerous. Karl adds that they do not need to be the ones
responsible for helping Nate through his issues and insists that he wants Nate out of the house.
Park: Amber notices Josh heading over to where she and Daniel are staying in Daniel's car. He comments that he didn't think Amber was the outdoor
type and laments that it proves he never really got her when they were a couple. Josh wonders where Mark is, as he has noticed some tyres not stacked properly at the garage. Amber replies that Mark is helping Matt; she tells Josh
she will go and ask Chris, but Josh says not to worry as he can go and sort them out. Leaving, he urges Amber not to say anything to Chris.
Number 26: In the back garden, Chris is in the spa, chatting to Amber. He says that he was just trying to give Nate an out and reassure him that he didn't
have to be in it for the long term. Chris wonders whether Nate took it the wrong way and assumed Chris was trying to push him away. Amber reminds Chris that he was there for Nate and that Nate would want to do the same leaving Chris to think
that Nate would only be with him because he has an obligation. Amber informs Chris that it is not the case and that what has happened has proved how much people care about him. Chris is thankful, pointing out the food deliveries and how he
hopes they won't end any time soon. Amber guiltily tells him not to worry about that and explains the fund that has been set up. Chris asks what she means and Amber replies that everyone knows Chris will need taxis and other stuff that will
need paying for. Chris is surprised and asked who organised it: Amber explains it was a joint effort and that Chris shouldn't underestimate how many people care about him.
Lassiter's Complex: Down by the lake, Paul is deep in thought when Dakota, who is wearing a cap and sunglasses, jogs up to him.
She says "surprise," and Paul replies that she could say that!
Harold's Store: Nate sits down opposite Susan and says he wants to apologise for flipping out the way he did. He adds he can hardly remember it
happening, but that sometimes anger takes over, although he does remember the scared look on Susan's face. Susan replies that she appreciates the apology, but that Nate had told her to call him on any disturbing behaviour, and so that
is what she is doing. Susan adds that Nate's behaviour was unacceptable and that she and Karl can't live under the threat that Nate might fly off the handle at any time. When Susan tells him to get help or leave the house, Nate says he
understands. He says that he is trying to find someone qualified to help that he can connect with, but hasn't had any luck and so will be gone from the house later.
Lassiter's Complex: Paul tells Dakota that, earlier, he threw his wedding ring into the lake because she led him to believe they had a future together.
Dakota asks to be able to explain but Paul replies he is not the fool that she thinks. Dakota says that not everything she told him was a lie but Paul asks about Mark and points out how Dakota was played at her own game. Dakota apologises;
Paul goes on to ask why she chose him as the person to undertake her scheme. Dakota replies sadly that Paul broke her heart and Paul realises it was her revenge. He gets up to go but Dakota stops him, saying she needs ten thousand dollars
to get out of the country. Paul sarcastically asks whether Carlos has left her high and dry; Dakota says that if She ever meant anything to Paul he would help. Upset, Paul retorts that she knows she did but says that he is not feeling the
urge to invest any more money. Dakota reminds Paul it is his money and name linked to the bar as well as Daniel's and explains she is sorry to have to do it, but that if she is caught, she will be taking Paul down with her.
Fitzgerald Motors: Josh is busy stacking tyres when he notices Jayden and his friends watching. Going over to fill a bucket with water a taxi
pulls up, causing Josh to hide: Chris gets out and heads into the garage. Josh watches from the side.
Harold's Store: Nate heads over to Chris, who is sat at a table, and asks what he has got. Chris replies he has his payslips and they are to apply for his
victims of crime compensation. Nate sits down and Chris asks whether they are breaking up. Nate asks if it is what Chris wants and Chris assures him that he doesn't. Nate wonders why they are having the conversation then, and Chris admits
it is because he doesn't want Nate to feel obligated. Nate reassures Chris he wants to be with him and that it is not an obligation: Chris wonders why Nate didn't say that before and Nate replies that he thought Chris wanted to get rid of him.
Chris jokes that Nate's silent brooding can be pretty hot, but that sometimes he wants to know what is going on with him. Nate asks Chris if he minds that he heads off as he has something to explain to Susan; he urges Chris to tell him if he
needs anything. Meanwhile, Mark comes in and sees Daniel: he asks if Paul has heard anything from Dakota. Daniel replies that he hasn't but asks Mark to go easy on Paul. Mark comments that he thought Paul and Dakota was just a bit of fun,
but Daniel explains that Paul fell for her hard and that they were going to go away, adding that it has really cut Paul up.
Lassiter's Hotel: Paul is handing Dakota an envelope of money and commenting that he didn't see everything ending in this way when he pulls Dakota to the side as Mark walks in.
Hiding Dakota away, he approaches Mark and asks what he wants. Mark replies that he has heard Paul and Dakota were planning to go away together but Paul says it was before he found out about her. Mark asks Paul why he should believe Paul had no involvement in
Dakota's schemes. Dakota is listening in as Paul asks Mark if he has ever been taken for a fool by someone he cares about and admits that this time, someone got the better of him. Paul adds the real kicker is the fact that Dakota really wanted Mark and that he
was just the poor sap that got taken along for the ride. Paul tells Mark to get out and then let's Dakota out of her hiding place, handing her the envelope. She tells him that he was the first person to really care about her. Paul replies that it doesn't really
count for much, but Dakota says that for her it does. She goes on to say that she is truly sorry things didn't work out between them. Saying goodbye, he urges her to use the staff exit as he doesn't want her being seen.
Fitzgerald Motors: On the street, Josh is cleaning one of the cars from the garage when Jayden comes over. Josh suggest he goes somewhere else and Jayden urges
Josh to make him. Josh is shocked, but Jayden says that he is only joking, wanting to know if Josh is interested in giving him some lessons in throwing a punch and helping him to look after himself. Josh tells Jayden to get away from him: Jayden
continues to insist Josh show him what to do, claiming that Josh is a legend. Jayden adopts a fighting position: Josh makes a fist, but in the end walks away, telling Jayden that he is an idiot.
The Waterhole: Nate is telling Susan that Chris urged him to stop playing his cards close to his chest. He explains that he therefore wants to be honest with
Susan, who reassures him he doesn't have to tell her anything he doesn't want to. Nate says he will, and wants Susan to understand what happened in the car park. He explains that, when in Afghanistan, he lived in a community, wanting to connect
with other people. He says that, one day he might connect with a local, then the next they turned against him because they had been paid off by the Taliban, adding that he had to watch his back the whole time, never knowing what was real. Susan
continues to listen sympathetically as Nate carries on his story of how one day he gave a girl a toy to play with and they played with it together, promising that he would see her the next day. This didn't happen, however as she was killed for
having the toy. Nate explains his nightmares are about this and the fact that she was only six and will never grow up because of him. Nate tells Susan the reason he snapped earlier was because he had had a fight with Chris and that images of
what happened just build up inside him. Nate accepts that this is not an excuse and wishes he could shut off his brain and never think about Afghanistan again: he cries, saying he doesn't know how to do that.
The Waterhole: A little later, Daniel is urging Paul to look on the bright side as Now Paul has opened himself up once more to love. Paul admits he doesn't
want to take that chance, but Daniel reminds him the possibility is there and now he needs to find a woman that is worthy of his live. Paul explains that he thought he had that with Dakota and Rebecca but that everything is one disaster after
another. He gets up and heads off to work. Meanwhile, Susan is asking Nate how much of what he has just said has been shared with Chris. She says if her partner had gone through that amount of trauma she would want to know. Nate explains
Chris knew he was struggling and was amazing and was going to tell Chris the details, but then he got hurt. Nate adds he will tell Chris when he is better although Susan doesn't think it is a good idea for Nate to keep everything bottled up.
Nate replies that he has tried to talk to people, but that it has never felt right. Susan points out that he talked to her and that, although she has never been to war, she is not a stranger. She adds Nate is a good person but is carrying around
fear and pain and wants to help Nate try and cope with these feelings.
Ramsay Street: Amber sees Josh arrive home and he explains that he has finished off a few jobs at the garage. Amber says she is proud of Josh and he
sarcastically says he is a hero. He explains what happened with Jayden and Amber urges Josh not to let things get to him. Josh wonders if Amber just sees him like Jayden does, as some kind of tough guy. Amber hesitates and says she
never thought Josh would hurt her, but points out that he does have a temper, which was part of the reason she couldn't stay with him. Josh explains he wanted to punch Jayden but that he walked away, wondering if by doing that, he has
done enough to be proud of.
The Waterhole: Daniel overhears Mark on the phone and wonders whether he and Paul are in trouble. Mark replies that they are both in the clear and that
he has had a job offer to go back to the police. Daniel asks if he is going to take it, but Mark isn't sure saying that at the moment, he has more important things to deal with. before leaving, Brennan reveals that the police got full
confessions out of Dakota's associates and that they will be going to jail, although there has been no sign of Dakota.
Number 24: Mark arrives home and calls for Paige. When there is no reply he goes and sits alone on the sofa.
The Waterhole: Karl tells Susan she is not qualified to help someone with PTSD. Susan informs Karl that psychiatrists have not helped Nate and that
she can't turn her back on him. Susan reiterates how going to war has changed Nate and points out that he needs someone. Karl tells Susan he'd rather Nate have a trained professional, but Susan has made up her mind and wants to help.
Susan adds she wants Nate to stay at the house and Karl relents, on condition that if Susan ever feels threatened, Nate will have to leave and she will have to walk away.
Number 26: Chris goes to answer a knock at the front door: it is Josh, who asks if he can come in. He says he won't stay long, although Chris doesn't
make a move away from the door. Josh says there is something he needs to do and adds that it concerns Chris. Josh urges Chris to hear him out.
