A week of confrontations in Erinsborough…

Janae’s flirting with Boyd reached new heights this week as she tried her hardest to attract his eye, and with some degree of success, but Boyd managed to keep his head and didn’t give in to her advances. Stingray, meanwhile, continued to worry about the reputation his sister was gaining at school. Young Bree, however, had letters rather than boys on her mind as she continued to revise for the spelling bee. Janelle, convinced that her youngest now had the potential to win the national competition was thrilled when the Erinsborough News took an interest in Bree’s local success. However, the reporter’s coverage of the story didn’t quite reflect what Bree and Janelle hoped. Instead, it made strong reference to an overpowering mother who wanted prize money for her own benefit. Janelle was furious and even more so when she overheard Summer telling Bree that the journalist had only reported the truth, and that it was indeed her mother that was the cause of her nerves. Despite at first having the confidence to agree with Summer, Bree soon decided she would keep the peace and insist that Janelle was a grand help.

The deliberate toxic spill at the wetlands caused more health problems this week, and not only for the wildlife. Dylan and Sky’s visit to the site meant that Dylan now suffered toxic poisoning and had a higher chance of developing cancer later in life. Sky was upset, but respected his bravery, and despite feeling for him, she resisted any further temptation to take things further with him. Paul, meanwhile, was approached by Affirmacon henchman, Tony Corbett, on his luxury yacht, and a threat was made against Liljana, should Paul hinder the corporation’s bid to build their new mall. Despite being torn between two sides, Paul’s presence at the community council hearing enabled Affirmacon to be granted purchase rights to the wetlands, which he claimed was a benefit to the community, as the company would pay for the clear up of the toxic waste.

Although unaware of the threat made against her, Liljana was having troubles of a family sort with Serena still unable to accept her parent’s marriage had broken down. Indeed, the daughter was confused and upset to the extent that she pretended to be drunk and in the company of sleazy men in order to make Lil pay attention to her. David too was confused about his marital status, especially when out of the blue he received a text message from Lil asking him for lunch at Lassiter’s. Lil had in fact sent the message to him instead of the intended Paul by mistake, and she therefore had to concoct a story to cover her error, telling David that they should put their differences aside for Serena’s sake.

Stephanie’s court appeal was heard during this week and to her great relief she was acquitted, and celebrations were had all round. Max had to concede that Bobby was in due part to thank for his monetary contribution. However, the celebrations took a slight turn when Rosie telephoned to say she was heading back to Erinsborough for a brief holiday. Bobby was mortified he might run into his ex wife, despite Izzy and Max’s wishes that he should stay around. However, Bobby decided to pack his bags and run. Luckily for the family, Lyn was loitering around outside Scarlet Bar waiting for Bobby to finish his shift and they sat up all night chatting, and Lyn made him see sense. However, Bobby never let on to the kids that he had planned to leave, and as it happened, Rosie couldn’t make the trip, so he had no cause to worry. To further clear the air, the three male generations of the Hoyland family set off to the country for a camping trip on horseback. Things took a dramatic turn though as Boyd’s horse bolted and Bobby had to catch him up through dense woodland. Just as it seemed Bobby had transferred onto Boyd’s horse and restored order, the grandfather was thrown from the saddle and knocked unconscious.

And finally, the slightly odd goings on in Ramsay Street continued as Lou wouldn’t tell Harold what he was doing with regards to exchanging secret handshakes and phone calls, whilst Connor AKA The Shamrock and Toadfish AKA The Lawman continued in their quest for wrestling stardom…
