After 992 episodes, Connor Aloysius O’Neill finally said his goodbyes, but how he departed remains to be seen…

Susan was horrified by Lyn’s suggestion that she and Karl get back together, and hurt that she thought she would move on from Alex so quickly, but soon admitted she’d fallen back in love with Karl, but was worried that it would be like Alex hadn’t existed. Missing Jenny, who was in Canberra and still feeling sad about Cassie’s death, Karl asked Susan to dinner, whilst she initially refused, she thought about Lyn’s words and soon changed her mind, but it seemed that Susan wanted more out of the evening than Karl as she struggled to find the perfect outfit with which to impress him. Over dinner, Karl & Susan got on like old times, but when Karl made a toast to them being “good friends”, Susan was left feeling rather disappointed and as her feelings ran through her head, she was disappointed further when Jenny rang and Karl had to go and meet her from the airport. Meanwhile, Jenny asked Karl to move to Canberra with her, but he found it difficult to come to a decision.

After returning from visiting Lori & Maddy in Lorne, Connor told Ned & Carmella that Lori was moving back to New Zealand with Maddy to be nearer her family and announced that he was thinking of moving back to Ireland, as there was nothing to keep him in Australia with Maddie gone. Carmella assured he there was, and convinced him to take some time off and travel around Australia to find a new perceptive, much to Toadie’s dismay. On the day of his departure, Toadie presented him with “The Travellers Guide To Australia”, but he dropped something on his way into the house, which “Cameron” saw and brought in. After he left, Carmella asked Toadie & Connor who he was and told them that she recognised him from somewhere, but wasn’t sure where. Later that day, the newly invested Sister Mary Catherine went to St. Luke’s hospice to say goodbye to her patients and friends before taking up a placement at a hospital in the bush, when she came across ‘Robert Robinson’ and realised where she recognised “Cameron” from. After Connor said goodbye to Toadie, he received a phone call from Carmella telling about Robert and so, he went over to number 22 where he told “Cameron” the good news. After pretending to tell his dad, “Cameron” asked Connor to stay for a drink, but he refused, but revealing his evil self, Robert insisted that he stay, and it looked like Connor wasn’t going anywhere ever again, especially as Robert then got into Connor’s Ute and drove it out of Ramsay Street, with Connor nowhere to be seen.

With preparations for Janelle & Kim’s wedding well underway, the arrival of Angie & Big Kev caused immediate disruptions with Kev dragging Kim over to number 30, where the men of Ramsay Street, plus a few of Kim’s friends were waiting for his Bucks party, whilst Angie saw that the girls got ready for the Hens party at number 26. Whilst Angie & Janelle were initially disappointed when they heard there wasn’t going to be a stripper, they were left screaming with joy when it turned out Susan had arranged one. Meanwhile, over at number 30, Kev had hired ‘Miss Nova’ for Kim who was shocked to learn that she was really a bloke named Bruce, but Kev’s plan backfired when Kim made a joke of it all. As the girls woke up worse for wear, they were shocked to see Janelle wasn’t and had drunk water all night; the same couldn’t be said for Kim though, as Janae & Angie found him tied to a surfboard outside of number 30. After rousing Kim, from his drunken stupor, Angie was furious when Kim couldn’t find the ring. After searching Kim spotted it in the pool, and as Dylan, Stingray and Toadie crowded round to look, Toadie accidentally sent them all plunging into the water and whilst Kev missed the ceremony due to being unconscious from his drinking session, the other four ran into the limo, hanging their clothes out of the window to dry. As the car left the street, the police pulled into it, looking for Kim. After trying number 26, Senior Sergeant Steiger asked Rachel & Zeke where the Timminses were. Unable to lie, Zeke told him they were at Lassiter’s for the re-wedding and as Kim & Janelle renewed their vows, the police walked in to arrest Kim. Dylan & Stingray managed to stall the police long enough for Kim & Janelle to finish the ceremony, after which Kim escaped through the back door, with a little help from Angie’s foot. When Dylan offered to go to the police to take some of the heat off Kim, Janelle reminded him that Kim told him to keep himself out of it, and when Toadie explained that Kim was facing around 5 years in prison, Janelle broke down in Kev’s arms.

Meanwhile, Mishka arranged for Lou & Harold to play poker so that Lou could win “his house” back and commandeered number 30 so she could keep her eye on them using Connor’s binoculars. As Lou & Harold had fun playing “Go Fish”, Mishka kept her eagle eye on them through the window, but after Lou closed the blind so she couldn’t see, Mishka returned and blurted out the ‘truth’, Harold came to the end of his tether and told her the truth about the ownership of number 24, leaving Mishka furious with Lou. She soon forgave him though as Lou told her that he loved her, and he didn’t lie about the important things.

After talking to Toadie about his MP3 player, Izzy realised how “Cameron” had recorded her “answer phone message.” Desperate to prove her innocence, Izzy snuck into number 22 to steal the MP3 player, but after Paul & “Cameron” walked in, she was left struggling to escape unnoticed, she did, but Robert noticed the door was open and the security chain was moving. After seeking further advice from Toadie about retrieving deleted files, Izzy took the MP3 player to a computer forensic expert. After Izzy warned Katya to take care, she questioned “Cameron” and as his evil deeds flashed before his eyes, he realised he couldn’t tell Katya the truth and he broke up with her.

Paul was left with a storage problem after buying 100 storage units in order for Elle & Sky to keep their jobs, but after Sky rang Susan in the middle of dinner and she told her she was disappointed by her insensitivity, Sky tried to lead a mass staff walkout, but only she and Elle walked. Whilst Sky planned to return to her art, Elle planned to go shopping.

Also this week, Rachel went on her first date with Garrett Burns, but was less than excited, Ned planned to take KenNEDy in a new direction after they were booked for a paying gig and Max issued Boyd with an ultimatum, cancel his marriage to Janae or move out.

Notes: Earlier this year, it was announced that, in the ten-week build-up to episode 5000, the writers would be slipping the episode block number (a block being a set of 5 episodes) into the scripts each week. This week, the number 996 was mentioned in Thursday’s episode, when Snr. Sgt. Steiger told his officers they needed back-up and to ‘call car 996’.

In both Monday and Tuesday’s episodes, Natalie Blair was wrongly credited as playing ‘Caremella Cammeniti’, instead of Carmella, whilst on Tuesday, Natalie Bassingthwaighte was credited as playing ‘sabelle Hoyland’, rather than Isabelle.

Fully illustrated summaries of Tuesday to Thursday's (Connor’s Disappearance and Kim & Janelle’s Wedding: Parts One and Two) episodes can be found here.
