Exploding cars, twin swapping, teen pregnancy and illegal Vodka distilleries, and they say the suburbs are boring…

After being evicted by Max & Janelle, Boyd & Janae sought refuge at number 30, but when their parents realised they were missing, they enjoyed their guilt. Feeling guilty, Max paid their rent, on the condition that Boyd didn’t know, but when Boyd apologised about not being able to pay for a while, Ned told them that it didn’t matter for now as Connor was still paying his share of the mortgage.

A devastated Janelle waited for Kim to call, but he didn’t and when Snr. Sgt. Steiger questioned Dylan about his involvement in the scheme, Janelle lied and said it was her and not Dylan who helped Kim. Hurt by Kim’s disappearance, Bree began to act up at school and told Susan that she had decided to look for her real parents, but as Susan shared Karl’s experience of meeting his real dad, Ron, with Bree, and how he realised that Tom, the man who raised him was his ‘real’ dad, Bree questioned Susan’s true feelings for Karl. Meanwhile, Lyn took in upon herself to try and unite Karl and Susan, but when the latter caught Lyn chatting to Karl in The General Store, she was furious and dragged Lyn away before she could say any more.

KenNEDy’s first gig under the new name of Oodles ‘O’ Noodles was a success, unlike Karl’s leather trousers, which Paul relished in mocking him about. Karl was initially shocked and disappointed to find out that they were actually performing for kids, but soon found himself enjoying it. As they were offered another gig, Karl invited Susan to come along, and she & Toadie were amazed by how popular they were, but it seemed as if Susan had more on her mind than music.

Paul & Lyn were a hit with the potential baby belt manufacturers, but in very different ways. As Lyn felt she was getting closer to Paul, she was shocked to see him taking one of the women, Letitia into the penthouse suite of Lassiter’s. As Lyn looked disapprovingly at Paul, he told her that the last thing he needed was a mother figure, leaving her rather disappointed that he didn’t look at her in the same way.

As the new Irish Rose that “Cameron” had planted in the front garden of number 22 proved to be popular with the neighbours, Robert planted a bomb in Elle’s car, but not before telling his brother of his plans to kill Elle, Paul and then him. As he left, Cameron opened his eyes. Meanwhile, Izzy remained adamant that “Cameron” was capable of killing, but still Max & Paul wouldn’t believe her, but as she got the MP3 player back and played Paul the proof of what “Cameron” had done. Remembering “Cameron’s” strange behaviour around Elle & her car that morning, he immediately rang Elle and tried to calmly get her out of the car. As Elle told Paul to stop fussing, Izzy grabbed the phone and screamed at her to get out of the car and run. As she reached a safe distance, the car exploded. At St. Luke’s hospital, Cameron waited for Robert to return, and knocked him out as he did, taking his clothes and car and heading to Ramsay Street. As the real Cameron arrived at number 22, Max apprehended him, accused of Robert’s crimes, Cameron tried to explain that he had been in a coma for two months, as Robert had driven their car into a tree, and Robert was out to kill them but Paul, Max & Izzy refused to believe him. Meanwhile, as Robert came round, he realised what had happened and climbed into bed, taking Cameron’s place as ‘comatose’ “Robert”. With the twins each being themselves now, confusion followed and as the Police arrived with a traumatised Elle, Cameron tried to convince her of what had happened, but Paul refused to listen and made the police take him away. The other Ramsay Street residents were shocked when they heard what had happened, whilst Harold shared the suspicions he’d felt all along. Meanwhile, Paul realised that “Cameron” must have been responsible for the plane crash, and killed Harold’s family, but little did he know it was really Robert. Paul & Izzy were bemused when Elle emerged with her broken jewellery box, telling them that she thinks that Cameron is in the coma and Robert was the one who was living with them, but they didn’t believe her. After visiting Cameron in prison, Elle believed his story, but still wasn’t 100% sure that he was telling the truth, and wasn’t Robert.

When Paul told Harold what “Cameron” had done, he was shocked when Harold offered him support and comforted him in his time of need. Harold told him to look for a positive in the situation, which was that “Cameron” failed to hurt his family, which showed how strong the bond between them is. Shocked by Harold’s understanding, Paul told Izzy that he wasn’t surprised that one of his sons turned out to be a murderer after what he did to Gus on the night of the Lassiter’s fire. Harold was right though, as another positive came out of the situation when Paul thanked Izzy for what she did, and he said he loved her, and for the first time she reciprocated.

As the news of “Cameron’s” crimes spread, Katya was shocked, and realised that “Cameron” had also tried to kill her. In a bid to cheer her up, Toadie took Katya on a drive along the Great Ocean Road. Realising Toadie might want more than friendship, Susan warned him not to hurt her. Given their history, Toadie was hurt by Susan’s warning, but she soon apologised, saying that she was just being overprotective. Toadie understood, saying that having been on the other side of her over-protectiveness, he wouldn’t want it any other way.

Bree & Zeke joined Garrett & Rachel on their second date. Stingray warned Garrett off Rachel. Furious, Rachel told Stingray to stay out of her business, but he couldn’t help his feelings for her and told her that he loved her. Rachel told him she felt the same and so they nearly kissed, until Dylan interrupted them. After Garrett spread rumours about Rachel “Kinky” Kinski, she was devastated, and ran into Stingray’s arms at Scarlet Bar. Stingray stormed into the school and punched Garrett. Susan caught him, was furious, and told him to end whatever he had with Rachel or he’d lose her support forever. Rachel was impressed though, but told him not to take any more risks.

Trying to hide his Vodka distillery at The General Store, Lou bribed Zeke into listening to Harold tell him all about the Salvation Army. His efforts were in vain though when Harold caught Mishka selling her “Old 997” and as a cover up, Lou told him it was an old Russian formula for stain remover. The trio were shocked when Harold tried it out, and it worked, but when Harold started selling it as stain remover, Mishka wasn’t happy. Lou's lies lead to Harold thinking Mishka had a serious alcohol addiction when he caught her drinking “Old 997”, which he thought was cleaning fluid. Having told his old friend he would get Mishka help, Lou & Mishka celebrated their cover up with a glass of “Old 997”, but when Harold caught them drinking it, Lou was forced to admit that it was Vodka. Disappointed, Harold gave them until he got back from his two-week Salvation Army band tour to move out.

Meanwhile, Sky tried to win Dylan back, and asked Stingray for help. She hired a car and booked track time at the superdome in order to help Dylan forget about Kim for a while, and have fun. Dylan was impressed, and jumped at the chance to join her, but on the way home, he realised that he couldn’t forgive Sky for her infidelity and being friends wouldn’t work. Disillusioned, Sky returned home, but when Mishka told her to move on, Sky said she would wait until she was feeling better. As Sky described her symptoms, ex-midwife’s assistant, Mishka, told her it sounded like she was pregnant.

Also this week, Steph tried to come up with her next invention, Stingray tried to find the perfect Zombie sound, and did, in Mishka’s yawn and Toadie was disappointed that Connor hadn’t called, and admitted to Katya that he missed his newly departed best mates.

Notes: Earlier this year, it was announced that, in the ten-week build-up to episode 5000, the writers would be slipping the episode block number (a block being a set of 5 episodes) into the scripts each week. This week, the number 997 was mentioned in Thursday’s episode, when Mishka wanted to name their vodka after her old address in Russia, but Lou convinced her to settle on the name of Old 997.
