This week saw the Neighbours get down to some serious studying…

Elle & Paul trawled through medical books to find the perfect disease for Elle, and after Paul bribed the pathologist who had a debt with Lassiter’s, Karl informed Elle that she had a potentially fatal disease, but treatable, which she then used to win Dylan back. Meanwhile, Stingray met his favourite director and desperate to impress, he lied and told him that he was making a documentary about Sky’s baby, which could have a birth defect, whilst Susan struggled to hide her guilt with Sky about the letter. However, when Stingray revealed that Karl offered to fund his video during a bid to steal a letter that Susan sent him, Sky realised what was going on and confronted the doctor. Luckily, Karl managed to warn Susan before Sky saw her and she played dumb, but Sky warned her that if she found out Susan was lying she’d never forgive her. Later, Sky was thrilled when Stingray showed her the footage of Dylan admitting his feelings for her, but was heartbroken when after Elle told Dylan her news, the chances of her and Dylan reuniting were scuppered.

Steph returned from Bendigo to see Izzy still living at number 32, and playing her and Max off against each other, but as she expressed her fury at seeing her sister-in-law in the house after what she’d done to Lyn, Max pointed out to his wife that his family was just as important as hers. Infuriated by Max and Izzy, Steph sought solace with Toadie but was enraged to realise that he was the dobber, however, she was amused when he revealed that the reason he complained was that he had to sleep during the day as he couldn’t sleep and night over the sound of Boyd & Janae “studying.” Determined to get her own back, Steph set out to prank Toadie, but he saw straight through them and set out to train her in the art of comedy. Meanwhile, Izzy was shocked when Paul revealed that he and Lyn were “studying”, and tried to tell Steph, but she refused to listen, whilst Lyn was horrified when Izzy revealed that Paul killed Gus Cleary and destroyed the evidence, and set out to confront him. The hotelier soon managed to turn her mind to other things when he showed her the pony rides he’d arranged in the street for Oscar’s birthday party, but later on Paul issued Izzy with death threat for spilling his secrets.

Lou returned from Russia desperate to impress Janelle, but ended up bemusing her and Harold by his odd behaviour. He told Harold that Mishka did not intend to leave Igor and that he wanted to move on, and it seemed that he planned to move on with Janelle, who used Lou’s feelings for her to get him to do the housework and then trick him into buying dinner for her and the kids at Scarlet Bar. Meanwhile as Janelle began to warm towards Anne, she found a tape of her talking about getting to know the Timminses and told Bree, however when Anne overheard her new friend listening to her tape recording she was furious and ran out of the house, straight into the path of Harold’s reversing car. Luckily Zeke managed to pull her out of the way in time and she escaped with just a few cuts and grazes and Anne explained it was her diary, but when Harold insisted that he give Anne a lift home she became cagy. After Harold, Bree, Rachel & Zeke dropped her off and drove away, an old woman opened the door and it soon became clear that Anne didn’t live there.

Karl struggled to adjust to the changes in Susan’s way of life since their divorce, but that was soon the last thing on his mind when he began to have flashbacks of spending the night with Izzy. He told Susan that he felt sure that Izzy had lied to him, but Susan convinced him that for once, Izzy was telling the truth. Meanwhile, Susan was shocked when Lyn told her about her relationship with Paul and reminded her friend of how he hurt Liljana and warned her to stay in control.

Izzy became suspicious of Katya’s ‘friendship’ with Max when she suggested they go on a Weekend-long Tibetan Workshop. Steph encouraged him to go. The pair got a shock though when the arrived and discovered it was a Buddhist spiritual retreat. During meditation they both had happy thoughts, Katya of having fun with Zeke & Rachel and Max of Brodie Holland asking him to play footy with Collingwood. Katya then had dreams of her and Max becoming more than friends.

Finally this week, Carmella pushed Toadie into being mates with Ned, but was keen to point out that House of Trouser was no-more, much to Toadie’s chagrin and Janae planned to leave school. However, when Karl scolded her and Boyd for bringing their relationship into the workplace and warned Boyd that Janae could lose her job, Boyd decided to get his wife the sack so she would stay at school.
