It was a week of confrontation and scheming in Erinsborough…

Katya found herself drawing closer to Max at the retreat, but desperate to escape from the intensity of the course they did a runner. When the car broke down on the way home after Max suggested they take the scenic route home, Katya didn’t believe Max and thought it was a ploy to get her alone, running off to find a ride back to Erinsborough. Katya told Max they had to distance themselves due to their feelings for each other, but he revealed he didn’t feel the same and that he’d fantasised about playing for the Magpies. After admitting what she’d done to Susan, the stepmother reassured Katya that she’d done nothing wrong and she was relieved when Max later suggested that they pretend that nothing happened.

Lyn was shocked to learn that Carmella was counselling Paul and that Paul was more interested in the flesh than the spirit. He set out to do some real good deeds. Paul offered to pay the crisis centre’s operational costs for 12 months, in exchange for a night with Carmella. Meanwhile, Steph was furious to see Lyn & Paul kissing in the kitchen at number 26, wearing her nightclothes and after confronting Lyn, warned Paul to treat her mother with respect, or else. As Paul’s night with ‘Sister Mary Catherine’ came around, he got a shock when she invited Sister Agnes & Sister Frances to join them, incensed by her duping of him, Paul told Carmella he’d cancel the cheque, but being one step ahead of him she’d already cashed it.

Janae was shocked to receive a cheque for $1000 from her grandmother for her to spend extravagantly, as long as Janelle didn’t find out, and Boyd was less than impressed to return home to see the living room looking more like a jungle and a photographer ready to take shots of them as Tarzan & Janae. Meanwhile, when Karl caught them kissing at work again, he warned the newly-weds about their behaviour, but was impressed when Boyd revealed it was all a ploy to get Janae the sack so she’d return to school. Boyd was disappointed though when one of the senior nurses revealed that the warnings were only Karl being a prude and Janae’s job was safe.

Susan was mortified to find an earring whilst washing Karl’s sheets and realised it was Izzy’s and confronted her, however as Steph’s practical joking got out of hand and Izzy fell from a chair that she’d tampered with, knocking herself out, she had to be taken to hospital. After Steph, who had been forced to eat humble pie and apologise to her sister-in-law, had left, Susan confronted Izzy again. This time, Izzy revealed that she had spent the night with Karl and explained to a furious Susan just what had happened. After pondering what to do, Susan decided not to let Isabelle sabotage her relationship with Karl once again and asked her ex-husband to move in back into number 28; however, Rachel & Zeke had several conditions, such as not being disciplined by him. Meanwhile, Karl became convinced that Rachel & Zeke had turned Audrey against him.

As the news of Elle’s ‘illness’ spread around Ramsay Street, the residents rallied round to cheer her up, throwing a party to celebrate “the one year anniversary of Ned Parker arriving in Ramsay Street” leaving her feeling rather guilty, particularly due to Cameron’s reaction to her supposed condition. Her lies backfired though when Cameron made her take her medication and Paul had to rush her to the hospital to get her stomach pumped. Elle soon forgot her guilt however, when her dad reminded her why they came up with the scheme in the first place, to get Dylan back and swapped her pills for something less harmful.

As Janelle continued to take advantage of Lou’s feelings towards her, Bree warned her mother to stop leading him on. When she went over to number 24 to ‘break up’ with Lou, Janelle put her hand on the back of his neck, and thinking he’d got sunburn, she went to put some moisturiser on, but was shocked to discover a tattoo with Mishka’s name on it, which Lou had no recollection of having done. He refused to believe her, but when Sky confirmed the news, Lou began to worry that something was wrong with him, especially when he realised he had lost a week. After performing some memory tests, Karl & Sky worried that Lou may be suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

Also this week, Stingray started filming his documentary of Sky’s pregnancy, much to Karl’s dismay, but all were relieved when the results of the amniocentesis revealed no sign of any abnormality. Anne tried to convince Zeke that Bree didn’t love him, sending him a love letter supposedly from Bree and then revealing that she sent it and after falling out with Bree found herself becoming closer to Janelle. Finally, Toadie’s honey trap scheme ended in disaster when the ‘wife’ revealed that she was actually a lawyer and the real wife had been playing them at their own game.
