In a week that saw a family robbed of their son and brother and a sister returning to old habits…

A furious Janelle scolded Bree for hiding Kim’s letters from her, but after listening to her daughter’s explanation, Janelle realised that Bree was right and decided to move on from Kim and his constant disappointments. Meanwhile, Bree felt sure that Anne was purposely doing things to cause trouble for her, but was unsure why and ended their friendship. Later, after seeing Anne with Stingray & Janelle in Scarlet Bar, Bree became convinced that for some unknown reason, Anne was trying to take her place in the Timmins family.

Also this week, as Toadie questioned Katya’s selfishness regarding her family, the Hoylands and himself, Susan questioned Max’s selfishness as he sided with Steph over her ‘leave town’ ultimatum to Katya. After he overheard Katya telling Susan that she planned to leave, Zeke begged her to stay, but was heartbroken when he saw Katya outside number 28 with her suitcase, only to discover that is was empty, ready to go back into the garage.

A seriously ill Cameron told Paul that he wanted to join the family business, but only if Paul changed his ways. Pleased to be making progress with his son, Paul arranged to see a psychiatrist, but shortly after Paul left for his first appointment, Cameron’s condition deteriorated and he was taken for emergency surgery. Meanwhile, Paul admitted to his shrink that he wanted to change and that prison made him a worse man and had left him unable to form normal bonds with people. After the session, Paul returned to Ramsay Street to apologise for his behaviour towards Izzy and told her that he’d never stop loving her, but that they’d be better apart as they bring out the worst in each other. Izzy agreed, and told Paul that she was leaving Erinsborough. As the former couple proved that good Neighbours could become good friends, Lyn arrived and rushed Paul to the hospital, where shortly after arriving they were told that Cameron hadn’t survived. As the news spread, the residents were devastated, particularly Max, who struggled to adapt to the fact that he’d killed a man, whilst Paul made plans for Cameron to be taken home to Tasmania for the funeral, accompanied by him, Elle & Sister Mary Catherine.

Blaming herself and her lies for Cameron’s death, Elle revealed to Dylan, who had not long returned from his cooking course that she’d lied about her illness to keep him and told him to go back to Sky. However, as Dylan told Sky that Elle had lied and that he wanted to be with her, Sky pushed him away, not wanting to lie to keep him as Elle had done. The trouble teen soon changed her mind when a mistakenly disposed box of medical records brought about an unlikely bond between her and her old adversary, Izzy, who told Sky that the lives of her and those around her would’ve been better if her secret hadn’t come out, and Sky should learn from that. With Izzy’s words fresh in her mind, Sky relented and took Dylan back, for the good of herself, Dylan and the baby. Meanwhile, with Paul still over in Tasmania with Gail & Elle, Lyn sought Carmella’s help to win the debtors over and get them to drop the ‘baby belt’ lawsuit in a bid to save the Scully house and Paul’s business, with an out of the habit, Sister Mary Catherine hoping to use the Cammeniti name to scare them into doing so. Sadly, with Rocco in prison, the name was worthless, as was Lyn’s bluff regarding the other company’s business activities, and they failed, leaving Lyn forced to sell her house.

Boyd threatened to call the police on a rude customer at Scarlet Bar after she refused to leave, but was shocked to discover her at the hospital the next day and that she was Dr. Sally Herbert, his new lecturer. After explaining his manner at the bar, Dr. Herbert told Boyd that her issues with him were down to his performance as a doctor, but when she dropped her bag, Boyd noticed a vial of Morphine fall out, and with drugs missing from the supply cabinet. Warned Boyd not to say anything. Janae pushed Boyd to tell someone. Janae found the vial in Boyd’s bag. Harold returned from Perth with a new vice, drinking neat ‘Tazzles’ Raspberry cordial and immediately began to worry that his old friend Lou, was losing his mind. After conducting some memory tests of his own, Harold became convinced that it was just another of Lou’s schemes, this one concocted to keep Janelle’s attention.

Loris offered to buy Ned’s personal training company after he admitted that he wasn’t as busy as he made out to be, and the pair arranged a working dinner to discuss the fine details. With his business acumen, hardly up to scratch, Ned took Toadie along as his lawyer to make sure that the deal was fair, but when Loris heard the Rebecchi name mentioned she began to worry, but was relieved when whilst Toadie thought she was familiar, he didn’t realise that she was Kim’s mum.

Struggling to cope with living with Karl, Zeke sought advise from Toadie, who told him to accept the Karl’s psychosis and suggested that he look in the loft of number 28 to find the answer to all teenage frustrations, however, as he did, Susan caught him. With the stepmother unsure of why her attic was so popular with every teenage boy who had lived there, she went up to investigate and discovered an old copy of Ambrosia men’s magazine and realised that it dated back to when Toadie lived there.

Meanwhile, Rachel asked Stingray to be her date to the school formal and the pair attended dance lessons, but with Stingray’s drinking continuing to get the better of him, he brought a bottle of booze along the help him get through the class. The next day, however, when Susan issued an ultimatum to the owner of the empty bottle found in the boy’s toilets, 24 hours to own up, or the formal would be cancelled, Rachel’s suspicions immediately turned to her boyfriend.

Notes: Episode 5046 saw Pippa Black, Caitlin Stasey and Matthew Werkmeister added to the regular cast list in their respective roles of Elle Robinson, Rachel Kinski and Zeke Kinski, despite them all featuring in the opening titles since the beginning of the 2006 season.
