Erinsborough waved goodbye to the biggest bad girl it had ever seen, but not before one final bombshell…

As Izzy finalised her plans to leave Ramsay Street, she had one final birthday to celebrate. After Carmella visited and gave her a knitted blanket, which she cryptically told her that she would be needing later on, Max realised that he’d forgotten his sister’s big day and took her out to Luna Park for a reminder of their childhood. Once there, Izzy would only go on the gentler rides and tried to talk to Max about his problems with Charlie, reminding him that none of the recent events were the child’s fault and he didn’t deserve to be punished for them by not having his father around. As Max came to his senses, Paul turned to Izzy for one final favour before she left – he asked her to lie to Lyn and claim that she’d made up the story about Paul murdering Gus. With number 26 sold, Lyn and Oscar needed somewhere to stay and Paul wanted them to live with him, but her fears about him being a killer were preventing her from saying yes. And so, Izzy told Lyn that it had all been a lie, and Lyn agreed to become Paul’s housemate. Meanwhile, Toadie mentioned to Susan and Lyn that Izzy had been tying up her legal affairs and they were all convinced that she had to be dying. Susan confronted her former love rival and told her not to turn away from her family at a time like this, but Izzy told her that she had got it all wrong and she wasn’t terminally ill. The two women finally made an awkward truce and admitted that perhaps, under other circumstances, they could have been friends. That evening, several Ramsay Street residents gathered at the bar to say their farewells to Isabelle and she finally admitted that it was her 30th birthday. The next morning, the Hoylands said their farewells to Izzy as she boarded the bus out of Erinsborough. Back in Ramsay Street, Susan answered the phone at the Hoyland house, only to be told by Dr Olenski that Izzy needed to call to reschedule her first ultrasound. A stunned Susan raced to the bus-stop and confronted Izzy, only to be told that the baby wasn’t Karl’s and to ask Paul if she needed confirmation of this. Paul kept his side of the bargain with Izzy and told Susan that the father of Izzy’s baby was a one-night-stand she met at Lassiter’s. He then phoned Izzy to let her know and to say a final goodbye and she took a photo from her bag, of the real father – Karl.

Anne was persona non grata in the Timmins household this week, following her kiss with Zeke. When she came to the house to try and explain what had happened, Janelle threw her out, telling her that she’d overstepped the mark and was no longer welcome. Later, Bree found her sitting alone in the park and angrily accused her of lying and cheating her way into their lives, before suggesting that she probably wasn’t even blind. That evening, Lou found Anne sitting outside and she told Janelle that there was a reason for everything – she was her real daughter. Janelle was left stunned, but realised with just one look that it was true, while Bree confided in Lou about her fears that she would be rejected by the Timmins family now that they had found the real Bree. Lou, Sky and Dylan all told Bree that she would always be one of the family – they had all grown up together and nothing could ever take that away. Anne, meanwhile, insisted that her parents should not find out about any of this, or they would take her away and they’d never see her again. As if one revelation wasn’t enough, Janelle was shocked to realise who the mystery buyer of number 26 was – her mother-in-law Loris. At first, Janelle threw the woman out of her home and refused to have anything to do with her, but Dylan convinced his mum to give Loris another chance to make up for all of the problems of the past. After years of hating each other, Loris and Janelle finally sat down for a chat and Loris admitted that she’d realised a long time ago that Kim was the poor parent but had been too proud to admit it.

As if Izzy’s pregnancy, Anne’s parentage and Loris’ arrival weren’t enough secret spilling for one week, Carmella also finally opened up about the reason behind her sudden devotion to God. After straying from her chosen path the week before and going clubbing with Elle, she was in the process of trying to seduce Ned at Scarlet Bar when her Reverend Mother, Sister Mary Ignatius walked in, looking for her. Believing that Carmella was simply struggling in the wake of Cameron’s death, she asked her if she needed to talk about it, but was surprised when Carmella revealed the true reason for straying from the path. She explained that her cousin, Teresa, had fallen pregnant at 17 and turned to Carmella for help. When Connor had turned to Carmella, needing $50,000 for Maddy’s operation, she had sold the baby for $100,000 and split the money with Teresa. Her guilt over her actions had then led her to the convent, looking for forgiveness. Sister Mary Ignatius suggested to Carmella that she take some time out and think about her actions and whether being a nun was truly the right thing for her. And so, unsure of her future, Carmella asked Ned if she could stay on the couch at number 30 for a while.

Elle began her revenge plot against Max this week. During Izzy’s party, Elle stole a couple of footy tickets – a gift for Boyd – and replaced them with cardboard. Although Boyd thought it to be a poor practical joke, Max insisted that the tickets had been there and alarmed his family as he insisted on checking the patrons to find out who had stolen them. The next day, her campaign stepped up a gear as she made Max believe that he’d forgotten about an important business meeting with her and later, when she saw Max leave Charlie’s pram outside Grease Monkeys, she wheeled it out into the road. As an alarmed Steph came out of the garage and saw the pram she screamed at a confused Max, asking how he could be so careless, as he insisted that he had put the brake on and couldn’t understand how it had happened. Meanwhile, Zeke was alarmed when the magazine containing the pictures of Katya went missing from his bag during football practice. Before long, the photocopied pictures were appearing all over the school and Zeke had had enough. He angrily confronted his sister with the pictures and she finally opened up to Rachel and Zeke about her past – admitting that the pictures had funded a drug addiction, but had also been the wake-up call that got her into rehab and she’d been clean ever since.

Stingray’s drinking continued to cause concern for Rachel this week, following his excessive drinking at the school formal. The next morning, he presented her with a pendant and, as they kissed, she asked if he’d been drinking. Despite his excuses, she was suspicious and turned to Susan for advice, who said that Rachel shouldn’t have to be dealing with such things at her age and it was unfair of Stingray to even put her in that position. Later in the week, Rachel came up with a plan to shock Stingray into action and climbed onto the roof of number 28, whilst Zeke went to fetch an already-inebriated Stingray from work. As they returned, Rachel started stumbling about on the roof with a wine bottle in her hand but, as Stingray went up a ladder to get her, he could barely hold on and was left clinging onto the roof as the ladder fell away from beneath him. Elsewhere, Harold planted the idea in Dylan’s head that he should propose marriage if he wanted to make Sky truly happy. After deliberating over how and where to ask her, he settled upon the bumper cars at Luna Park, but it wasn’t until they arrived that he realised that she wouldn’t be able to ride them in her pregnant state. He decided to get down on one knee anyway and as a shocked Sky told him that she loved him, he took it as a yes and started to celebrate. Back at the Scarlet Bar, he announced the news and it quickly became clear that neither Susan nor Sky were comfortable with this sudden turn of events.

Finally this week, Lou and Janelle’s relationship moved on in leaps and bounds as he supported her through the week of revelations in the Timmins household, Harold bonded with Loris over their shared love of Tazzle’s, while Katya noticed how shaky Dr Herbert was when treating a patient and reported her, before the drug-addicted doctor finally admitted to her problem, and her theft from the hospital, clearing Janae in the process.
